''Days of Abandon'' is the third studio album by American indie pop band The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. It was released on May 13, 2014 by Yebo Music. The album was issued in Europe by Fierce Panda Records on June 2, 2014. Critical reception '' Under the Radar'' reviewer Austin Trunick found ''Days of Abandon'' to be reminiscent of "jangle-centric" 1980s music, "somewhere between The Smiths and The Cure's bouncier hits." Sasha Geffen of ''Consequence of Sound'' wrote that the album was "more deliberately articulated" than previous releases by The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, comparing its musical style to those of The New Pornographers and Interpol. ''Dracula, the Musical'' is a musical based on the original 1897 Victorian novel by Bram Stoker. The score is by Frank Wildhorn, with lyrics and book by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. The show had its regional premiere at the La Jolla Playhouse, La Jolla, California, in 2001, playing to 115% capacity, earning the highest paid capacity for any world premiere production in the playhouse's history. It then premiered on Broadway in 2004, starring Tom Hewitt as the vampire Count and Melissa Errico as the woman he loves, Mina Harker. A brief nude scene in which Dracula seduces Lucy Westenra (played by Kelli O'Hara) received much publicity, as did the show's numerous special effects. Mark Perry is a British writer and musician, and former fanzine publisher. Perry was a bank clerk when, inspired by The Ramones, he founded the punk fanzine ''Sniffin' Glue (And Other Rock 'n' Roll Habits)'' in 1976.
