Oleg Aleksandrovich Strizhenov (russian: Олег Александрович Стриженов; born 10 August 1929 in Blagoveshchensk) is a Soviet and Russian stage and film actor. People's Artist of the USSR (1988). Life and career Strizhenov completed the B. V. Shchukin Higher Theater School in 1953 and from 1953 he was actor in the Russian Theater of Drama in Tallinn (in Estonia); from 1954 to 1955, he acted at the Pushkin Theater in Leningrad, and in 1957 he was at the Screen Actors Theater and Studio in Moscow. From 1966 to 1976 he acted at the Moscow Artists' and Actors' Theater. Oleg's older brother, Gleb, was also an actor who was an Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Oleg Nikolayevich Karavaichuk (russian: Оле́г Никола́евич Каравайчу́к; 28 December 1927 – 13 June 2016) was a Soviet and Russian composer, author of music for many films and theater performances. Biography Karavaychuk was born on 28 December 1927 in Kyiv, into the family of a violinist who was arrested when Oleg was two years old. From early childhood, he composed music. He attended the School of Music at the Leningrad State Conservatory where he was under mentorship from Dmitri Shostakovich and Sviatoslav Richter, from which he graduated in 1945. In March 1943, he took part in a concert of young musicians in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Conservatory in Tashkent. From 1945 to 1951 he studied at the Leningrad State Conservatory piano class (teacher Samarii Savshinsky). Since 1953 he wrote music for films, although he claims that he began in movie industry because it was the only work which was not prohibited by the KGB. Revaz "Rezo" Chkheidze ( ka, რევაზ "რეზო" ჩხეიძე; 8 December 1926 – 3 May 2015) was a Georgian film director, People's Artist of the USSR, best known for his Soviet-era drama films, including his 1964 World War II-themed '' Father of a Soldier''. Biography Born in Kutaisi in the family of the writer Davit Chkheidze (he would be executed during the Great Purge in 1937), Chkheidze studied acting at Tbilisi State Institute of Theatre from 1943 to 1946 and continued his education under Sergei Yutkevich and Mikhail Romm at VGIK in Moscow from 1949 to 1953. Chkheidze directed twelve films and a TV miniseries between 1953 and 2008.
