Life (Talisman Album)
''Life'' was the 4th studio album by hard rock band Talisman (band), Talisman released on 23 August 1995 on Polydor Records. This album was written in Jeff Scott Soto's house over a couple weeks time in March 1995. This time they opted for convenience, recording everything separately, drums in Park studios, bass in Marcel Jacob’s pad, guitars in a small room just outside Stockholm. The tapes were then sent to Jeff in Los Angeles where he would do vocal overdubs. The first time the band was all together in the same room was during mixing. Although there are some great tracks on the album, maybe it should have been done differently. The mixing was done by Mats Lindfors. Marcel was unhappy with the result. The Japanese label were hurried, having planned their release date, and opted for the original mix. The European version is therefore a remix. Talisman (band)
Talisman was a Swedish hard rock band. Founded in 1989 by the songwriting bassist Marcel Jacob and fronted by the American singer Jeff Scott Soto, the band released seven studio albums from 1990 to 2006, before going on a farewell tour in 2007. While mainly described as hard rock and heavy metal, the band's sound had also been influenced by a variety of genres outside the rock music scope, such as rhythm and blues, soul, and funk in particular. After Marcel Jacob died in 2009, Talisman has reunited three times for one-off festival shows held in 2014, 2016, and 2017 with Johan Niemann filling in on bass. In 2019, to mark a ten-year anniversary of Marcel Jacob's passing, Talisman reunited once again to record and release a commemorative song "Never Die". Jamie Borger
Jamie Borger (born 28 May 1964) is a Swedish drummer who has played in the bands Talisman, Treat and Last Autumn's Dream. Over the years, he also has recorded with Alfonzetti, Adam Thompson, Baltimore, Human Clay, Swedish Erotica and Jeff Scott Soto. He also be involved several unreleased groups like The Three Kings with Jeff Scott Soto and Swedish guitar player Goran Elmquist. A couple of their demos ("As I Do To You" and "This Ain't the Love") were used by Jeff Scott Soto on his ''Believe in Me'' E.P. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand. Fredrik Åkesson
Karl Fredrik Henrik Åkesson is a Swedish heavy metal guitarist. He is a current member of Opeth and is also active in Krux, Monsters of Metal, and Talisman. Biography Åkesson has been playing guitar since the age of 12. His early musical influences include Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Norum and George Lynch. Marcel Jacob, founder of Talisman, held auditions in 1992 to find a new guitar player after Jason Bieler left them to play with Saigon Kick; the 19-year-old Åkesson was selected for the position. He spent almost four years with Talisman and after five records decided to leave them for a heavier outfit. Åkesson, Mats Levén, John Levén, and Rickard Evensand formed a band called Eyeball who would later change their name to Southpaw. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Seal (1991 Album)
''Seal'' is the debut studio album by Seal, released in 1991. It contains the singles "Crazy", "Future Love Paradise", "The Beginning", "Killer" and "Violet". The album debuted at number one in the UK and went on to win Best British Album at the 1992 Brit Awards. Seal's following album, released in 1994, was also named ''Seal''. It is usually referred to as ''Seal II''. There are two versions of the album, with minor and major differences in three songs. The shorter version of "Wild" is more rock-based and heavy than the original. The shorter version of "Violet" contains no dialogue within the singing. Track lengths of both versions are given for each song affected. Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel (born 19 February 1963), known professionally as Seal, is a British singer. He has sold over 20 million records worldwide.
