Lieutenant General (Pakistan)
Lieutenant General is a Three-star rank, three-star army officer rank in the Pakistan Army. It is equivalent to a vice admiral in the Pakistan Navy and an air marshal in the Pakistan Air Force. A lieutenant general is also called a three-star General (Pakistan), general. Like other armies, this rank is higher than a major general and lower than a full general. There are currently 30 Lieutenant Generals in the Pakistan Army, with each usually presiding over a corps. The Pakistan Army has followed the British Army rank system since its independence from the British Empire in 1947. However, the crown in the ranks has been replaced with a star and crescent, which symbolizes the sovereignty of the Government of Pakistan. Fayyaz Hussain Shah
Syed Fayyaz Hussain Shah is a three-star general in the Pakistan Army and currently serving as the Corps Commander of IV Corps based in Lahore as of January 2025. Military career Shah completed his education from Military College Jhelum and joined Pakistan Military Academy. He was commissioned into the Sindh Regiment through the 80th PMA Long Course. The Pakistan Army Corps of Engineers is a military administrative and the engineering staff branch of the Pakistan Army. The Corps of Engineers is generally associated with the civil engineering works, dams, canals, and flood protection, it performs and leads variety of public works in the country as part of its nation-building mission. Sword Of Honour (Pakistan)
The Sword of Honour is a prestigious award given to the top-performing Gentleman Cadet, Officer Cadet, Aviation Cadet or Lady Cadet during their training period at the Pakistan Military Academy, Pakistan Air Force Academy, Pakistan Naval Academy and the Officers Training School (until 1990). It is considered one of the highest distinctions in the Pakistan Armed Forces, as cadets aspire to win it. The sword is traditionally presented to the recipient during the passing out parade, held biannually at each academy's parade ground. On 22 September 2006, aviation cadet Saira Amin became the first lady officer to be presented with the Sword of Honour at the passing out parade of the 117th GD Pilot Course. The ''Hilal-e-Imtiaz'' (; ), also spelled as ''Hilal-i-Imtiaz,'' is the second-highest (in the order of "Imtiaz") civilian award and honour given to both civilians and military officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces by the Government of Pakistan. Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) is a military academy located nearby Kakul village in Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Established in October 1947, it is the only service academy in Pakistan that trains cadets to serve as army officers.
