Liesbeth Den Uyl
Elisabeth Jacoba den Uyl-van Vessem (18 June 1924 – 30 September 1990) was a Dutch activist, politician, and writer, involved with the PvdA, the Labour Party (Netherlands), Dutch social-democratic party. She was the wife of politician Joop den Uyl (prime minister 1973 to 1977), and was socially and politically active. She wrote for magazines including ''Opzij'' (a feminist publication), ''Vrij Nederland'' (a left-off-center publication), ''Margriet (tijdschrift), Margriet'' (a women's magazine), and for ''Het Parool'' (an Amsterdam newspaper). Biography Van Vessem was born in Amsterdam and graduated from the Hogereburgerschool, then studied psychology at university. When World War II broke out she had to interrupt her studies, and got a job with Querido, a Dutch publishing company. Buitenveldert
Buitenveldert is a neighborhood of Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is considered the modern Jewish quarter of Amsterdam with its Synagogue, Jewish schools, nursing homes, shops and restaurants. History From the Middle Ages the 'Binnendijksche Buitenveldertse' polder in the rural Amstelland region was part of the Nieuwer-Amstel municipality. In 1921, the Buitenveldert polder was annexed by the city of Amsterdam. Since then, the Kalfjeslaan on the southside of Buitenveldert has been the city limit. As part of the Algemene Uitbreidingsplan (‘General Expansion Plan’) of 1935, the Buitenveldert polder became the site of a new suburb. A woman is an adult female human. Prior to adulthood, a female human is referred to as a girl (a female child or adolescent). The plural ''women'' is sometimes used in certain phrases such as "women's rights" to denote female humans regardless of age. Typically, women inherit a pair of X chromosomes, one from each parent, and are capable of pregnancy and giving birth from puberty until menopause. Deventer
Deventer (; Sallands: ) is a city and municipality in the Salland historical region of the province of Overijssel, Netherlands. In 2020, Deventer had a population of 100,913. The city is largely situated on the east bank of the river IJssel, but it also has a small part of its territory on the west bank. In 2005 the municipality of Bathmen (with a population of about 5,000 people) was merged with Deventer as part of a national effort to reduce bureaucracy in the country. Deventer is one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. The place is already mentioned in 9th-century sources of the Diocese of Utrecht.
