Liepa Parish
Liepa Parish ( lv, Liepas pagasts) is an administrative territorial entity of Cēsis Municipality in the Vidzeme region of Latvia. Prior to 2009, it was an administrative unit of the former Cēsis District. History Liepa Parish was established on the territory of the former Liepa Manor (''Lindenhof''). In 1925, a section of the former Skangaļi Manor of was added to Liepa Parish. In 1935, Cēsis County had an area of 68.9 km² and a population of 1262 inhabitants. During the Soviet occupation, in 1945 Dunduri village and Liepas village councils were established, but were dissolved in 1949. That same year, the Cēsis District Cēsis District ( lv, Cēsu rajons) was an administrative division of Latvia, located in the Vidzeme region, in the country's north-east. Cēsis Municipality
Cēsis Municipality ( lv, Cēsu novads) is a municipality in Vidzeme, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2009 by merging Vaive parish and Cēsis town, which became the administrative centre. As of 2020, the population was 16,291. On 1 July 2021, Cēsis Municipality was enlarged when Amata Municipality, Jaunpiebalga Municipality, Līgatne Municipality, Pārgauja Municipality, Priekuļi Municipality and Vecpiebalga Municipality were merged into it. The territory of Cēsis Municipality is defined by law as a part of the region of Vidzeme. Vidzeme
Vidzeme (; Old Latvian orthography: ''Widda-semme'', liv, Vidūmō) is one of the Historical Latvian Lands. The capital of Latvia, Riga, is situated in the southwestern part of the region. Literally meaning "the Middle Land", it is situated in north-central Latvia north of the Daugava River. Sometimes in German, it was also known as ''Livland'', the German form from Latin ''Livonia'', though it comprises only a small part of Medieval Livonia and about half (the Latvian part) of Swedish Livonia. Most of the region's inhabitants are Latvians (85%), thus Vidzeme is the most ethnically Latvian region in the country. Priekuļi Municipality ( lv, Priekuļu novads) is a former municipality in Vidzeme, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2009 by merging Liepa Parish, Mārsnēni Parish, Priekuļi Parish and Veselava Parish, the administrative centre being Priekuļi Priekuļi (german: Freudenberg) is a village in Priekuļi Parish, Cēsis Municipality in the Vidzeme region of Latvia. Cēsu Apriņķis
Cēsu apriņķis (, ) was a historic county in the Swedish Livonia, in the Governorate of Livonia, and in the Republic of Latvia dissolved during the administrative territorial reform of the Latvian SSR in 1949. Its capital was Cēsis (''Wenden''). History First created as the Wenden Voivodeship in 1598, it was transformed into Kreis Wenden of Swedish Livonia in 1629. After the Treaty of Nystad it was incorporated in the Russian Empire and became one of the nine subdivisions of the Riga Viceroyalty (german: Rigasche Statthalterschaft – Stadtholdership of Riga) in 1783 and of the Governorate of Livonia in 1796. The district ran its own internal postal service from 1863 to 1903.
