Otto Liebe
Carl Julius Otto Liebe (24 May 1860 – 21 March 1929) was a Danish jurist who served as Prime Minister of Denmark from 30 March 1920 to 5 April 1920. Liebe was appointed prime minister after King Christian X had dismissed Carl Theodor Zahle and his cabinet because of dissatisfaction with the amount of land ceded to Denmark in the Schleswig Plebiscite. This use of power by the king, which was based in the Danish constitution, led to the Easter Crisis of 1920, and Otto Liebe was replaced by Michael Pedersen Friis after 5 days. The incident also led to a revision of the Danish constitution later in 1920. Biography Carl Julius Otto Liebe was born in Copenhagen. He was the son of Anna Sophy Pedersen and Carl Christian Vilhelm Liebe. His father was a prominent lawyer and politician. The Cabinet of Denmark ( da, regering) has been the chief executive body and the government of the Kingdom of Denmark since 1848. The Cabinet is led by the Prime Minister. There are around 25 members of the Cabinet, known as "ministers", all of whom are also heads of specific government ministries. The Cabinet has usually been composed of Ministers from two or more parties forming a coalition government. Still, most of these governments have been minority governments, relying on the support of still other parties. Cabinets are formally appointed by the Monarch. In practice, once a government has stepped down, there is a fixed set of rules for appointing an investigator (most often the future Prime Minister), with the job of trying to form a new government. Niels Thorkild Rovsing
Niels Thorkild Rovsing (26 April 1862, Flensborg – 14 January 1927, Copenhagen) was a Danish surgeon remembered for describing Rovsing's sign. Early life and education Rovsing was born in Flensburg, the son of first lieutenant and later captain M. Rovsing (1825–94) and Anna C. Crone (1830–82). Career Niels Thorkild Rovsing had qualified in medicine by the age of 23. He became professor of operative surgery in 1899 at the University of Copenhagen. Because this post did not allow him hospital bed privileges, Rovsing opened a private surgical nursing home. It was enlarged and equipped with X-ray facilities a few years later. In 1904, at the age of 42, he became senior surgeon at the Frederiks Hospital. In 1905, his campaign for better surgical accommodation in Copenhagen resulted in the start of construction of the Rigshospitalet, which opened in 1910. Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs of Denmark ( da, kirkeminister, lit. ''Minister for the Church'') is a Danish political minister office. The main responsibility of the minister is the Church of Denmark. The minister is politically appointed without any requirements being a member of the state church. The office was created in 1916 when the post Kultus Minister was split up into the posts of Education Minister and Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs. Christian X Of Denmark
Christian X ( da, Christian Carl Frederik Albert Alexander Vilhelm; 26 September 1870 – 20 April 1947) was King of Denmark from 1912 to his death in 1947, and the only King of Iceland as Kristján X, in the form of a personal union rather than a real union between 1918 and 1944. He was a member of the House of Glücksburg, a branch of the House of Oldenburg, and the first monarch since King Frederick VII born into the Danish royal family; both his father and his grandfather were born as princes of a ducal family from Schleswig. Among his siblings was King Haakon VII of Norway. His son became Frederick IX of Denmark. His character has been described as authoritarian and he strongly stressed the importance of royal dignity and power.
