Lie To Me (Gary Barlow Song)
"Lie to Me" is a song by British singer-songwriter Gary Barlow from his second studio album, ''Twelve Months, Eleven Days''. It was due to be released on 6 December 1999 as the third and final single from the album, but its release was cancelled by Barlow's record company, Sony BMG. Background "Lie to Me" was widely considered to be one of the best songs that Barlow had written and performed. Many fans and critics alike described the song as the type of single that would return Barlow to the top of the charts. Performed as the penultimate song on his 'For the Fans' tour, Barlow described the song as "lavish, slow and powerful" and in 2012, claimed it was the best song from the album, ''Twelve Months, Eleven Days''. Barlow later revived the song, performing it during his Gary Barlow: In Concert tour. The single was first announced in July 1999; but at that time, Barlow said he was on the receiving end of non-supportive press and backlash from the media, due to a slating from Rob ...

Twelve Months, Eleven Days
''Twelve Months, Eleven Days'' is the second solo studio album released by British singer-songwriter Gary Barlow. The album was released by BMG and RCA Records on 11 October 1999. It was to be Barlow's last studio album for 13 years until the release of ''Sing''. Furthermore, this was his last full-length record up until the release of ''Since I Saw You Last''. Background Following the success of Barlow's debut album '' Open Road'', expectations were high for his second solo album. However, when the album's lead single, " Stronger", a dance ballad, was released on 5 July 1999, many fans were unsure of Barlow's change in direction, and the single only peaked at number 16 on the UK Singles Chart. At the time, the British press had been ridiculing Barlow for not providing the media the headlines that they craved about his private life, and that his ex-bandmate, Robbie Williams, had regularly been in the papers with his erratic behaviour and party lifestyle. In an attempt to create ...

Pop Music
Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form during the mid-1950s in the United States and the United Kingdom. The terms ''popular music'' and ''pop music'' are often used interchangeably, although the former describes all music that is popular and includes many disparate styles. During the 1950s and 1960s, pop music encompassed rock and roll and the youth-oriented styles it influenced. ''Rock'' and ''pop'' music remained roughly synonymous until the late 1960s, after which ''pop'' became associated with music that was more commercial, ephemeral, and accessible. Although much of the music that appears on record charts is considered to be pop music, the genre is distinguished from chart music. Identifying factors usually include repeated choruses and hooks, short to medium-length songs written in a basic format (often the verse-chorus structure), and rhythms or tempos that can be easily danced to. Much pop music also borrows elements from other styles ...

Shame (Robbie Williams And Gary Barlow Song)
"Shame" is a song written and recorded by English singers Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow for Williams's second greatest hits compilation album, '' In and Out of Consciousness: Greatest Hits 1990–2010'' (2010). Produced by Trevor Horn, it was released as the lead single from the album on 27 August 2010 in most countries worldwide and on 1 October in the United Kingdom. "Shame" marks the first time Williams and Barlow collaborated on a song together solely and the first time they worked together since Williams left Take That in 1995. It is a pop song with country and folk music influences; two reviewers noted that it contains an acoustic guitar part similar to the one of the Beatles' 1968 song, " Blackbird". The lyrical content revolves around singers' broken relationship and fixing things up. "Shame" received generally favourable reviews from music critics who praised the song's sound, melody, and lyrical skills of the performers. It reached the top-ten in seven countries w ...

Unauthorised Biography
An unauthorized biography is a biography written without the subject's permission or input. The term is usually restricted to biographies written within the subject's lifetime or shortly after their death; as such, it is not applied to biographies of historical figures written long after their deaths. Other names Unauthorized biographies marked for revealing scandalous or embarrassing content are often called tell-alls, especially if they take the form of memoirs; tell-all biographies written by friends or family members of the subject are sometimes called kiss-and-tells. Due to the potential stigma associated with the phrase "unauthorized biography", unauthorized biographies written by journalists and intended to present a fairer portrait of the subject are sometimes called investigative biographies. Objectivity Unauthorized biographies may be considered more objective but less reliable than other biographies, because they are not subject to the subject's ( subjective) app ...
