Brian Liddy
Brian Liddy is a former officer of the Los Angeles Police Department. Liddy, together with Sgt. Edward Ortiz and former Officer Michael Buchanan, were the first to be charged with criminal wrongdoing in the Rampart Scandal. Liddy was both the highest-ranking and the most decorated LAPD officer to be directly implicated by Rafael Perez, based upon his testimony and allegations. Their convictions in the Rampart scandal were thrown out by a judge. The officers later sued in civil proceedings and, seven years later, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit upheld the lower court's ruling in their favor. Nearly $19 million went to resolve a federal jury verdict from 2006 that awarded $5 million each to Liddy, LAPD Officer Paul Harper, and LAPD Sgt. Edward Ortiz. Edward "Ed" Liddy (born January 28, 1946) is an American businessman who was chairman of the Allstate Corporation from 1999 to 2008. In September 2008, at the request of the secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Liddy agreed to serve as interim chairman and chief executive officer of American International Group, Inc. (AIG). His placement in the role was one of numerous government actions to provide stability to U.S. financial firms during the global financial crisis. Liddy requested a salary of just $1 a year. Elizabeth DuRoss Liddy is an Emeritus Professor of Information Science and former Dean of the Syracuse University School of Information Studies. She is a pioneer in the field of natural language processing. Early life and education Liddy grew up in Utica, New York. She was one of five children, all of whom worked in her father's family business. Liddy attended St. Francis DeSalle High School, where she was awarded a Regent's Scholarship, and eventually attended Daemen College. Seán Liddy
Seán Liddy (20 September 1890 – 30 March 1965) was an Irish politician and founder member of the Garda Síochána. On his retirement, he also founded and became the first President of the Garda Pensioners Association (1961–1966), later to be renamed the Garda Síochána Retired Members Association (GSRMA). One of seven children, Liddy was born as John Liddy in Dangarnella, County Clare on 20 September 1890, the son of farmer John Liddy and Margaret Donnellan. Thomas Liddy (born July 20, 1962) is an American attorney and political candidate in Maricopa County, Arizona. He is the son of the Watergate figure G. Gordon Liddy. Early life and education Liddy was born July 20, 1962, in Poughkeepsie, New York. He is the fourth of Gordon and Frances Liddy's five children.
