Libertas Sweden
Libertas Sweden ( sv, Libertas Sverige) is a political party in Sweden. It intended to contend the 2009 European Parliament elections under a common banner with Declan Ganley's Libertas.eu. History On 26 February 2009, Libertas announced that it wanted to open a branch in Sweden and appealed for the 1500 signatures required to register as a political party in Sweden. The results were submitted to the ''Valmyndigheten'' (the Swedish Election Authority) 58 minutes before the deadline expired. The results were not submitted as a list of signatures: instead, a document from a Notary Public certifying that the signatures existed was submitted in its place. When Libertas Sweden (''Libertas Sverige'') was set up Sören Wibe of Junilistan stated that Ganley had visited Sweden in January and offered Junilistan 10 million kronor ( SEK) to rename the party to "''Junilistan – Libertas''", and that Junilistan had rejected the offer and Libertas. Swedish Krona
The krona (; plural: ''kronor''; sign: kr; code: SEK) is the official currency of the Kingdom of Sweden. Both the ISO code "SEK" and currency sign "kr" are in common use; the former precedes or follows the value, the latter usually follows it but, especially in the past, it sometimes preceded the value. In English, the currency is sometimes referred to as the Swedish crown, as means "crown" in Swedish. The Swedish krona was the ninth-most traded currency in the world by value in April 2016. Jens-Peter Bonde
Jens-Peter Rossen Bonde (27 March 1948 – 4 April 2021) was a Danish politician who served as Member of the European Parliament (MEP) with the June Movement. He resigned as an MEP in May 2008. Bonde was elected to the European Parliament in the first election in 1979 with the People's Movement against the EU. He was re-elected 6 times consecutively. In 1992 he co-founded the June Movement which he chaired until his retirement in May 2008. Jens-Peter Bonde emerged from the Danish Left of the 1970s, however he was on the centre-left for much of his life. In November 2005 he was the inspiration behind the setting up of a new Party at a European level, EUDemocrats. He was its president from 2005 to 2009. Bonde wrote over 60 books on the EU, including editions of EU treaties with additional commentary. Family Jens-Peter Bonde is the son of Nina Bonde and Nis Bonde. 2009 European Parliament Election In Sweden
The 2009 European Parliament election in Sweden was held on 7 June 2009 and determined the makeup of the Swedish delegation to the European Parliament. The election was held using a modified form of the Sainte-Laguë method of party-list proportional representation using the entire country as a single electoral constituency. There is a threshold limit of 4 percent for Swedish elections to the European Parliament, so that any party not receiving at least four percent of the votes will not be allocated any seats. Sweden will be allocated 18 seats in the European parliament for this term, a reduction from the 19 they were allocated in the 2004 election. New Democracy (Sweden)
New Democracy ( sv, Ny Demokrati, NyD) was a political party in Sweden. It was founded in 1991 and elected into the Riksdag in the 1991 Swedish general election. It lost all its seats in the Riksdag in the subsequent election in 1994, and its subsequent decline culminated in bankruptcy in February 2000, at which time it retained only one city council post. Local factions of New Democracy reformed into minor parties such as Sjöbopartiet, which faced mixed success. New Democracy campaigned on an agenda of reform and restricted immigration, initially on economic rather than cultural grounds. Its economic policy, stressing the importance of entrepreneurship and deregulation, was generally perceived as right-wing. The June List ( sv, Junilistan, jl) is a Sweden, Swedish, Eurosceptic political party. Founded in 2004, it received 14% in the 2004 European Parliament election in Sweden, European Parliament election of the same year - gaining three seats. In the elections of 2009, however, it saw a drop of 11 percentage points in support and lost all of its seats. It currently holds no seats in parliament and does not play any active role in Swedish politics. Sören Axel Wibe (8 October 1946 – 29 December 2010) was a European economist and eurosceptic politician, born in Östersund. He was a Social Democratic Member of the European Parliament (MEP) 1995–1999, member of the Riksdag 2002–2006, and who since 6 July 2008 was party leader of the June List. In January 2009 he was elected President of the EUDemocrats - Alliance for a Europe of Democracies, a eurorealist European political party with members from 15 European countries.
