Liberman Broadcasting Tower Era
Liberman Broadcasting Tower, Era, is a 2,000-foot-tall (609.6 m) guyed mast located at 33°29'05.5" N and 97°24'44.8" W in Cooke County, Texas, USA. It was built in 2006 and is used for emergency communication and commercial radio broadcasting. Currently, it is used for storm tracking communications and primarily serves as the transmitter for KNOR-FM, 93.7 “La Raza,” a Spanish-language music station playing “ Norteño” music (roughly comparable to Contemporary Country in English). Situated on a private ranch about 7 miles west of Era (north of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex), Liberman Broadcasting Tower, Era, is one of earth's tallest structures (tied for sixth with several other guyed masts); and as of May 2007 was the tallest structure in Texas. Cooke County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. At the 2020 census, its population was 41,668. The county seat is Gainesville. The county was founded in 1848 and organized the next year. KNOR (93.7 FM), branded as "La Raza 93.7", is a radio station in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Krum, Texas, transmitting on 93.7 FM. This station is owned and operated by Estrella Media. Its translation in English means "the race 93.7." Station history The station was first established as 105.7 KZEA in 1984 (then KTYX and KICM) in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. The station plotted to move to the Dallas area on rimshot 93.7 frequency in 2002. In 2003, the KICM call letters and country format were sent to 93.7's sister station at 97.7-Ardmore, Oklahoma, whose callsign, KNOR and format, were assumed by 93.7, and the station went dark on the same day. ''Norteño'' or ''Norteña'' (, ''northern''), also ''música norteña'', is a genre of Regional Mexican music. The music is most often based on duple and triple metre and its lyrics often deal with socially relevant topics, although there are also many norteño love songs. The accordion and the bajo sexto are traditional norteño's most characteristic instruments. Norteña music developed in the late 19th century, as a mixture between local Mexican music and Austrian-Czech-origin folk music. Era is an unincorporated community in Cooke County, Texas, United States. It's a small farming town in the southwest portion of the county. Era was founded in 1878, after Judge J.M. Lindsay donated 6 acres for a school. The town was named for Era Hargrove, the daughter of an early settler. Today, the community of Era has a school, post office, volunteer fire department, 2 mechanic shops, a welding shop, a hair cutting salon, a feed store and a convenience store with a Subway.
