Liberal Students Of Denmark
The Liberal Students of Denmark ( da, Danmarks Liberale Studerende, often: ''DLS'') is a political student organization, with chapters in the major Danish university cities of Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense and Aalborg. It was founded 14 November 1910,"80 års kamp mod betonhoveder. DLS 1910-1990", Minerva, July 1990 making it one of Denmark's oldest student organizations. The organization's name has changed several times, and due to the autonomous status of the individual branches, some have traditionally preferred alternative names. Originally named ''Studenterforeningens Venstre'' (1910–40), other names used were ''Venstres Studerende'' and ''Liberale Studerende i Danmark''. Odense ( , , ) is the third largest city in Denmark (behind Copenhagen and Aarhus) and the largest city on the island of Funen. Louise Gade
Louise Gade (born 15 June 1972, in Thyborøn) is a Danish cand.jur., president of Aarhus VIA University College and former mayor of Aarhus, Denmark. Louise Gade is the daughter of Harry Gade and Anna-Marie Gade. She was a student of ''Struer Gymnasium'' (Struer Highschool) in 1991, after which she moved to Aarhus to study law. During her studies she became a member of the national board of Danmarks Liberale Studerende. In I 1997/1998 she obtained a degree as cand.jur. from Aarhus Universitet. Ulla Pedersen Tørnæs (born 4 September 1962 in Esbjerg) is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Liberal Party. Bertel Geismar Haarder (born 7 September 1944, in Rønshoved, near Aabenraa) is a Danish writer, teacher and politician, who was a member of the Folketing for the Venstre political party. He has served as minister several times, including Minister of Education from 1982 to 1993 and again in 2005 to 2010, and most recently as Minister for Culture and Ecclesiastical Affairs from 2015 to 2016 in the L. Danish Resistance Movement
The Danish resistance movements ( da, Den danske modstandsbevægelse) were an underground insurgency to resist the German occupation of Denmark during World War II. Due to the initially lenient arrangements, in which the Nazi occupation authority allowed the democratic government to stay in power, the resistance movement was slower to develop effective tactics on a wide scale than in some other countries. Members of the Danish resistance movement were involved in underground activities, ranging from producing illegal publications to spying and sabotage. Major groups included the communist BOPA ( da, Borgerlige Partisaner, Civil Partisans) and Holger Danske, both based in Copenhagen. Some small resistance groups such as the Samsing Group and the Churchill Club also contributed to the sabotage effort.
