Libby Schaaf (1)
Elizabeth Beckman Schaaf (born November 12, 1965) is an American politician who served as the 50th Mayor of Oakland, California from 2015 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served on the Oakland City Council. Schaaf won the November 4, 2014 Oakland mayoral election in the 14th round in ranked choice voting with 62.79% of the vote. Schaaf won re-election in 2018 with a 27% margin. During her mayoral term, the city lost two major league sports teams, the Oakland Raiders and the Golden State Warriors, in 2019.
