Liam Roche
Liam Roche (born 14 September 1999) is a Zimbabwean cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Mashonaland Eagles in the 2017–18 Logan Cup on 21 November 2017. Four days prior to his debut, he was named as captain of Zimbabwe's squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his List A debut for Mashonaland Eagles in the 2017–18 Pro50 Championship on 1 December 2017. In June 2018, he was named in a Zimbabwe Select team for warm-up fixtures ahead of the 2018 Zimbabwe Tri-Nation Series. Off Spin
Off spin is a type of finger spin bowling in cricket. A bowler who uses this technique is called an off spinner. Off spinners are right arm, right-handed spin bowling, spin bowlers who use their fingers to spin the ball. Their normal Delivery (cricket), delivery is an off break, which spins from left to right (from the bowler's perspective) when the ball bounces on the cricket pitch, pitch. 2018 Zimbabwe Tri-Nation Series
The 2018 Zimbabwe Tri-Nation Series was a cricket tournament held from 1 to 8 July 2018 in Zimbabwe. It was a tri-nation series between Australia, Pakistan and Zimbabwe, with all the matches played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) at the Harare Sports Club. In the fourth T20I, Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by seven wickets, therefore Australia and Pakistan qualified for the final. Pakistan defeated Australia in the final by six wickets to win the series. Originally, the tour was just going to feature Australia and Zimbabwe, with the two teams playing two Tests and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). In June 2018, the Zimbabwe team threatened to boycott the tour in a dispute over outstanding money that has not been paid to players. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The Pakistan national cricket team or Pak cricket team, often referred to as the Shaheens (), Green Shirts, Men in Green and Cornered Tigers is administered by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The Pakistan cricket team toured Zimbabwe to play the prestigious The Ashes 2.0 series which in July 2018 which consisted of five One Day International (ODI) matches. All the fixtures were played at the Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo. Originally, the tour was scheduled to have two Tests, three ODIs and two Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). In the fourth match of the series, Fakhar Zaman became the first batsman for Pakistan to score a double century in ODIs. His score of 210 not out broke the previous highest individual total for a Pakistan of 194 runs, scored by Saeed Anwar during the 1997 Pepsi Independence Cup. Zaman, along with Imam-ul-Haq, also made the highest opening partnership in ODIs, scoring 304 runs for the first wicket. 2017–18 Pro50 Championship
The 2017–18 Pro50 Championship was the sixteenth edition of the Pro50 Championship, a List A cricket tournament that was played in Zimbabwe. The tournament included a new team, the Rising Stars, along with the existing four teams. Matabeleland Tuskers were the defending champions. The competition was originally scheduled to run from 1 December 2017 to 31 March 2018. However, in December 2017, Zimbabwe Cricket postponed all the remaining fixtures scheduled to take place in the tournament. Zimbabwe Cricket were struggling to pay players' salaries for November and December and wanted to upgrade their facilities for the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier, which took place in Zimbabwe in March 2018. A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches. 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup
The 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup was an international limited-overs cricket tournament that was held in New Zealand from 13 January to 3 February 2018. It was the twelfth edition of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup, and the third to be held in New Zealand (after the 2002 and 2010 events). New Zealand was the first country to host the event three times. The opening ceremony took place on 7 January 2018. The West Indies were the defending champions. However, they failed to defend their title, after losing their first two group fixtures.
