Liam Hayes (hurler)
Liam Hayes (born 1974) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a full-back for the Cork intermediate team. Born in Dromina, County Cork, Hayes first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-four when he first linked up with the Cork intermediate team. Although he never played senior hurling for Cork, Hayes won two All-Ireland medals and three Munster medal in the intermediate grade. At club level Hayes is a one-time championship medallist with Avondhu. He also won a championship medal in the junior grade with Dromina. In retirement from playing Hayes has become involved in team management and coaching. As manager of the Cork intermediate team he guided them to All-Ireland and Munster titles. Hayes later served as a selector with the Cork under-21 team. 2000 All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship
The 2000 All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 17th staging of the All-Ireland Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1961. The championship ran from 28 May to 23 September 2000. Galway entered the championship as the defending champions. The All-Ireland final was played at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on 30 August 2000 between Tipperary and Galway, in what was their first meeting in the final in 28 years. Tipperary won the match by 2-17 to 1-10 to claim a fifth All-Ireland title overall and a first title in 28 years. Tipperary's Declan Browne was the championship's top scorer with 6-47. Dromina Hurlers
Dromina () is a village and townland in County Cork, Ireland. It is situated in the civil parish of Shandrum, close to the village of Newtownshandrum. As of the 2016 census, Dromina had a population of 275 people, up from 207 as of the 1996 census. The local church, Saints Peter and Paul church (built in 1936), is in Shandrum parish within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cloyne. As of the start of the 2020 school year, Dromina's national (primary) school had an enrollment of 68 pupils. In Gaelic games, a manager or (in Irish) ''bainisteoir'' is involved in the direction and instruction of the on-field operations of a team. The role entails the application of sport tactics and strategies during the game itself, and usually entails substitution of players and other such actions as needed. Ronan Dwane
Ronan Dwane (born 1973) is an Irish retired hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Cork senior team. Born in Aghada, County Cork, Dwane first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Midleton CBS Secondary School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team before later joining the under-21 and intermediate sides. He joined the senior panel during the 1997 championship. At club level Dwane was a two-time championship medallist with Imokilly He also played with Aghada. In retirement from playing Dwane has become involved in team management and coaching. As well as coaching Midleton CBS at various levels he has coached the Carrigtwohill senior team. At inter-county level he has served as coach with various Cork teams in all grades. He is the current manager of the Cork intermediate team. Pat Kenneally
Pat Kenneally (born 1968) is a former Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Newcestown and with the Cork senior inter-county teams in the 1990s. Kenneally captained Cork in 1995, however, he enjoyed little success with the senior team. He continued to play with the more junior teams on his club for some years after. He played in four County Finals for his club He also won the Man of the Match award when playing in the 1994 county success with his division Carbery which allowed him to achieve the honour of captaining his county in the 1995 Senior Hurling campaign. His inter county career began as a Cork minor hurler in 1986. He went on to play u21, Junior and Senior hurling as well as Junior football for Cork.
