Li Gang (Song Dynasty)
Li Gang (; 1083–1140) was a politician serving during the transition from the Northern Song to the Southern Song dynasty in the 1130s. He served as Grand Chancellor of Northern Song at its fall in 1127. He was also a general. Biography He claimed to be descended from Emperor Aidi of Tang, the last Emperor of Tang through a son named Li Xizhao (李熙照) In 1127, Emperor Qinzong appointed the Li Gang to lead the Song military to fend off the Jurchens, but Qinzong removed Li Gang from his appointment in the hope of starting peace talks with the Jurchens and sent his younger brother Zhao Gou to negotiate. The negotiation worked but not before Zhao Gou was taken hostage, ransomed, and released. Despite this, the Jurchens renewed their war again due to Emperor Qinzong's decisions. Li Gang (footballer)
Li Gang (; Pinyin: ''Li Gāng''; born 27 August 1981) is a Chinese football player as a midfielder. Club career Li Gang would start his career in 2002 with one of the local football clubs in Dalian, Dalian Sidelong in the second tier where he would go on to establish himself as a regular within the team by playing in twenty three league games within the 2003 league season. He would then see the club move to Shanghai and rename themselves Shanghai United at the end of the 2004 league season when the club also won promotion to the Chinese Super League after coming second within the league. Li Gang would help establish himself and his team the following season when his team came eleventh in the league. However at the beginning of the 2007 league season Shanghai United and Shanghai Shenhua merged with Shanghai Shenhua keeping their name. The Li Gang incident occurred on the evening of October 16, 2010, inside Hebei University in Baoding in Hebei province of China, when a black Volkswagen Magotan traveling down a narrow lane hit two university students. One of them, 20-year-old Chen Xiaofeng (), a student from Shijiazhuang at the Electronic Information Engineering College died later in the hospital.
