Lewis A. Craparotta
Lewis A. Craparotta (born March 7, 1960) is a retired United States Marine Corps lieutenant general who last served as the commanding general of United States Marine Corps Training and Education Command. Craparotta previously served as commanding general of Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms. Marine career Craparotta is an alumnus of the University of Vermont, and was commissioned in 1983. He is a 1978 graduate of South Windsor High School, and holds a master's degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. Craparotta took command of United States Marine Corps Forces, Pacific on August 8, 2018. South Windsor, Connecticut
South Windsor is a town in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 26,918 at the 2020 census. History In 1659, Thomas Burnham (1617–1688) purchased the tract of land now covered by the towns of South Windsor and East Hartford from Tantinomo, chief sachem of the Podunk Indians. Burnham lived on the land and later willed it to his nine children. Beginning in the middle of the 17th century, a few settlers from Windsor began using land on the east bank of the Connecticut River for grazing and farming purposes. By 1700, a number of families had made their homes in the area. In 1768, the residents of the area were allowed to incorporate as the separate town of East Windsor, though the area was informally referred to as East Windsor before this time. At the time, the town included all of what is now the present-day towns of East Windsor, South Windsor, and Ellington. South Windsor High School
South Windsor High School is located in South Windsor, Connecticut. It currently serves grades 9-12 with approximately 1,364 students and a 13:1 student-teacher ratio. It is the only high school in South Windsor, but also admits students from Hartford through the Open Choice Program. The school offers a variety of courses spanning departments such as mathematics, science, social studies, language arts, foreign languages, music, art, and technology. The school also offers over 80 options for extracurricular activities and 30 options for afterschool athletics.
