Lew Nichols III
Arthur Lewis Nichols III (born August 16, 2001) is an American football running back for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Central Michigan. During the 2021 regular season, he led the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision with 1,710 rushing yards. Early years Nichols attended Cass Technical High School in Detroit. He played football under Cass Tech head coach Thomas Wilcher. As a senior in 2018, Nichols rushed for 1,078 yards and 23 touchdowns on 84 carries. He was named to all-state teams selected by the ''Detroit Free Press'', ''The Detroit News'', and the Associated Press. Central Michigan During the 2019 season, Nichols appeared in four games for Central Michigan, carrying 19 times for 89 yards. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. Since 1990 the Doak Walker Award honors the top running back in college football in the United States. It is named in honor of Doak Walker, a former running back who played for the SMU Mustangs from 1945 to 1949 and in the National Football League for the Detroit Lions from 1950 to 1955. 2021 Northern Illinois Huskies Football Team
The 2021 Northern Illinois Huskies football team represented Northern Illinois University during the 2021 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Huskies were led by third-year head coach Thomas Hammock and played their home games at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb, Illinois as members of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC). With a win over Buffalo on November 17, the Huskies clinched the West division championship and a place in the MAC Championship Game.
