Melanie Ann Levesque ( ; born May 20, 1957) is an American politician from the state of New Hampshire. A Democrat, Levesque represented the 12th district in the New Hampshire Senate from 2018 until 2020; she was the first African American to serve in that body. Levesque was chair of the Senate Election Law & Municipal Affairs committee, and served on the Judiciary and Transportation committees. Levesque previously served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 2006 to 2010 and 2012 to 2014. In 2021, Levesque was a senior advisor for the New Hampshire Democratic Party. Marie-Christine Lévesque (1958 – 16 July 2020) was a Canadian art director, author and editor. As an art director she won the 2005 Applied Arts Award for the cover design of ''9 Vues''. Her partner was Serge Bouchard and she co-authored books with him including ''Elles ont fait l’Amérique : De remarquables oubliés, tome 1'' and ''Le peuple rieur. Hommage à mes amis innus'', the latter of which won the 2018 Le Prix Victor-Barbeau award. Louise Levesque, née Cavelier, (23 November 1703, Rouen – 18 May 1745, Paris) was an 18th-century French femme de lettres. The daughter of a prosecutor at the parlement de Normandie, Louise Cavelier received a good education. At age 20, she married Levesque, a gendarme of the King whom she followed to Paris. Léonard Lévesque (May 23, 1935 – August 26, 2017) was a Canadian politician. Born in Mont-Carmel, Quebec, Lévesque represented the electoral district of Kamouraska-Témiscouata in the National Assembly of Quebec from 1976 to 1985. He was a member of the Parti Québécois. Laurier Lévesque (October 13, 1929 – September 7, 2005) was a Canadian educator and a politician in the Province of New Brunswick. A graduate of St. Joseph's College in Memramcook and the New Brunswick Teachers' College in Fredericton, Laurier Lévesque taught school before entering political life. A resident of Edmundston, New Brunswick, he was first elected to the Legislative Assembly in the 1960 New Brunswick general election as a Liberal Party candidate for one of the three seats for Madawaska County. He was reelected in 1963, 1967, and 1970. In the 1974 election, he lost by 95 votes to the Progressive Conservative candidate Jean-Pierre Ouellet in the newly created riding of Madawaska-les-Lacs. Without the Parti acadien contesting the riding, Lévesque may have won. The Parti acadien received 99 votes, ones that are generally accepted as being traditional Liberal supporters. Laurent Levesque (born 28 January 1970) is a film score composer. He started the piano at 4 and graduated at 17 from the French national music school academy with five first prizes. He then became a pianist in several symphonic orchestras and an accompanist at the Opéra National de Lyon. When he went to perform in New York, he met Philip Glass who introduced him to film music scoring. His first experience in composition for a movie was with the director Costa-Gavras in 2001 for his controversial movie ''Amen''.
