Letchworth Garden City RUFC
Letchworth Garden City Rugby Union Football Club is a rugby union club based in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, England. The club runs up to three senior teams each week. Along with a Mixed Ability side the Braveherts and has thriving Mini, Junior, Girls and Ladies sections the Lionesses. The first team recently got promoted from London 2 North West finishing in second place. (2021-2022 season) .Durning the league they had beaten every club in the league and also remained unbeaten at home throughout the campaign - a feat only achieved twice before in the clubs history 1960 and 1991. The Hertfordshire Rugby Football Union is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in the county of Hertfordshire in England. The union is the constituent body of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) for Hertfordshire, and administers and organises rugby union clubs and competitions in the county. It also administers the Hertfordshire county rugby representative teams. History Although the Hertfordshire Rugby Football Union was formed in 1935 and there have been club sides based in the county since as the late 19th century, a senior representative side did not take part in the County Championships until as late as 1952. Joseph Marion Allison (October 3, 1924 – August 2, 2002) was an American songwriter, radio and television personality, record producer, and country music business executive. Allison won five BMI performance awards for hit singles he wrote and a 2 million performance award for writing " He'll Have to Go". He co-founded the Country Music Association. CMT called him "one of the most influential figures in the rise of modern country music." Early life Joe Allison was born in McKinney, Texas in 1924. In team sport, captain is a title given to a member of the team. The title is frequently honorary, but in some cases the captain may have significant responsibility for strategy and teamwork while the game is in progress on the field. In either case, it is a position that indicates honor and respect from one's teammates – recognition as a leader by one's peers. In association football and cricket, a captain is also known as a skipper. Various sports have differing roles and responsibilities for team captains. Jonathon Robert Brain (born 11 February 1983) is an English former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. A former Carlisle United trainee, he joined Newcastle United in 1999. He moved on to Port Vale in 2003, never having played for Newcastle or Carlisle. Three years later, he transferred to Macclesfield Town, where he became the first-choice keeper. Following this, he spent the 2010–11 campaign with Walsall. He then entered the non-league scene with Nantwich Town, before joining Stafford Rangers in July 2013. Career Early years Born in Carlisle, Cumbria, Brain started his career with Carlisle United, before moving on to Newcastle United in 1999.
