Let Us Prey (novel)
''Let Us Prey'' is the fourth studio album by English stoner/doom metal band Electric Wizard. It was released through Rise Above Records in 2002 and was the last album to feature Electric Wizard's original line-up. After its release, Tim Bagshaw and Mark Greening went on to form Ramesses. The vinyl edition was originally pressed by The Music Cartel on a single LP. Rise Above later reissued the vinyl version as a 2LP with a bonus track, "Mother of Serpents". This track also appears on the Japanese version of the album as well as the CD reissues on both Rise Above and Candlelight Records. Musical style ''Let Us Prey'' was a continuation of the more abrasive doom metal sound of their previous album, '' Dopethrone''. It featured more experimentation and guitar layering on some songs. Electric Wizard are an English doom metal band from Dorset. The band formed in 1993 and have recorded nine studio albums, two of which have been considered genre landmarks: ''Come My Fanatics…'' (1997) and ''Dopethrone'' (2000). Electric Wizard's brand of doom metal incorporates stoner and sludge traits, with lyrics focusing on the occult, witchcraft, H. P. Lovecraft, horror films and cannabis. In 2014 they formed Witchfinder Records, an imprint of Spinefarm Records, on which they plan to release all future albums. History Pre–Electric Wizard (1988–1993) The origins of Electric Wizard go back to 1988 when Jus Oborn formed the band Lord of Putrefaction. Genesis (band)
Genesis are an English rock band formed at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey, in 1967. The band's most commercially successful line-up consisted of keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford and drummer/singer Phil Collins. Ramesses (band)
Ramesses was a British extreme metal band from Dorset, initially featuring former members of Electric Wizard. History Ramesses was formed in February 2003 by Tim Bagshaw and Mark Greening (ex-Electric Wizard) with Adam Richardson formerly of Lord of Putrefaction, Spirmyard, and Hexed. Their second album titled ''Take the Curse'' was released in 2010. In 2011, the band released their 3rd full-length album ''Possessed By the Rise of Magick''. They shortly followed it up with the studio/live EP ''Chrome Pineal'', which featured three new studio tracks and three live tracks recorded in 2007. In 2012, it was announced that Bagshaw had left the band. He had moved from England to the United States and formed the sludge / doom metal band A Serpentine Path with all 3 members of the band Unearthly Trance.
