Let Me Fall
''Let Me Fall'' ( is, Lof mér að falla) is a 2018 Icelandic drama film directed by Baldvin Zophoníasson. It was screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival. Plot Stella and Magnea, two teenage girls meet at a party. They begin spending time together, experimenting with tobacco, alcohol, and drugs. Magnea eventually drops out of school and distances herself from her former friends. The story follows the two girls as they grow up, experience addiction, drug trafficking, prostitution, and stints in prison. Baldvin Zophoníasson, or Baldvin Z, is an Icelandic film and television director, writer, and producer. He was born in 1978 in Akureyri. He is best known for his films ''Jitters'', ''Life in a Fishbowl'', '' Let Me Fall'', and the television series ''Réttur'' and '' Trapped''. Career Baldvin's first feature film was the Icelandic-language teenage drama ''Jitters'' (titled ''Órói'' in Icelandic), released in 2010. The film portrays "the confusion and excitement of being a teenager". It won the Children's Film Award at the Kristiansand International Children's Film Festival. Júlíus Kemp (born 2 December 1967) is an Icelandic film director and producer. Biography Júlíus Kemp studied film-making at the West Surrey College of Art & Design in the UK. His short film "Happy Birthday" (16mm/bw) was made at WSCAD/London in 1991. Julius left college to work as an editor on "Children of Nature" (1991) by Fridrik Thor Fridriksson, which was nominated for an Oscar as Best Foreign Film. He co-founded the Icelandic Film Company in 1991 and co-wrote and directed his first feature film, "Veggfóður erótísk ástarsaga" (1992), which was a box office hit, produced by Fridriksson and Kemp. Þorsteinn Bachmann
Þorsteinn Bachmann (born 25 October 1965) is an Icelandic actor. He is known for his role as Móri in ''Life in a Fishbowl''. In 2015 he won an Edda Award for that same role. Early life Þorsteinn grew up in the Fossvogur area of Reykjavík, Iceland before moving to Breiðholt when he was 10 years old. He did not do well in school in the early years. Looking back, he remembers that he was barely able to read or write before changing schools from Fossvogur to the one in Breiðholt. Career Þorsteinn graduated from the Icelandic Drama School in 1991. Since graduation he has worked with theatre groups in Reykjavík and Akureyri and was president of the latter for a few years. Ólafur Arnalds (; born 3 November 1986) is an Icelandic multi-instrumentalist and producer from Mosfellsbær, Iceland. He mixes strings and piano with loops and beats, a sound ranging from ambient/electronic to atmospheric pop.
