"Let Me Call You Sweetheart" is a popular song, with music by Leo Friedman and lyrics by Beth Slater Whitson. The song was published in 1910 and was a huge hit for the Peerless Quartet in 1911. A recording by Arthur Clough was very popular the same year too. A 1924 recording identifies a Spanish title, "Déjame llamarte mía". The song's recording was selected by the Library of Congress as a 2015 addition to the National Recording Registry, which selects recordings annually that are "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". Leo Friedman
Leo Friedman (July 16, 1869 - March 7, 1927) was an American composer of popular music. Friedman was born in Elgin, Illinois and died in Chicago, Illinois. He is best remembered for composing the sentimental waltz "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" with lyrics by Beth Slater Whitson in 1910. Another popular composition was "Meet Me Tonight in Dreamland." He also wrote the music for the popular ragtime song "Coon, Coon, Coon" in 1900. Lyrics were added by Gene Jefferson in 1901. The song was claimed to be the most successful song of 1901. Antoine Dominique Domino Jr. (February 26, 1928 – October 24, 2017), known as Fats Domino, was an American pianist, singer and songwriter. One of the pioneers of rock and roll music, Domino sold more than 65 million records. Born in New Orleans to a French Creole family, Domino signed to Imperial Records in 1949. His first single " The Fat Man" is cited by some historians as the first rock and roll single and the first to sell more than 1 million copies. Domino continued to work with the song's co-writer Dave Bartholomew, contributing his distinctive rolling piano style to Lloyd Price's "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" (1952) and scoring a string of mainstream hits beginning with "Ain't That a Shame" (1955). ''Hearts Are Thumps'' is a 1937 '' Our Gang'' short comedy film directed by Gordon Douglas. It was the 152nd ''Our Gang'' short released (153rd episode, 64th talking short, and 65th talking episode). An audio clip from the short was included (out of sequence) in the beginning of the song "Tough Guys" by REO Speedwagon, from the album ''Hi Infidelity'' (1980). Plot Spanky, Alfalfa and Buckwheat have no interest in observing Valentine's Day. Bimbo is a fat, black and white cartoon pup created by Fleischer Studios. He is most well known for his role in the Betty Boop cartoon series, where he featured as Betty's main love interest. A precursor design of Bimbo, originally named Fitz, first appeared in the ''Out of the Inkwell'' series.
