''Let It Break'' is the fourth studio album by Irish singer-songwriter Gemma Hayes. It was released in Ireland on 27 May 2011. The album was recorded in Westland Studios in Dublin, Ireland, Black Box Studios in Noyant La Gravoyère, France and mastered at Golden Mastering in Los Angeles, CA. Background Following the release of her third studio album, '' The Hollow of Morning'' in May 2008, Hayes confirmed she was working on some new material and aspired to release an acoustic album. During further promotional work and touring, Hayes confirmed that she had begun work on her fourth album in August 2008. While recording for her fourth album, she produced tracks which later appeared on her EP '' Oliver''. On 14 April 2009, it was announced on her Myspace blog that Hayes began to write newer material for the next album. On 3 September 2009, Gemma performed at the 2012 stage at the 2009 Århus Festival. Gemma Hayes
Gemma Hayes (born 11 August 1977) is an Irish musician, singer-songwriter and composer. Primarily known as a vocalist and guitarist, she is also proficient with a wide range of instruments, including the piano and the harmonica. She is also a member of The Cake Sale and Printer Clips. Early life Hayes grew up in Ballyporeen, Tipperary with her parents and seven other siblings. She was surrounded by music from an early age heavily influenced by her siblings and her father who was a keyboardist in a local band. Hayes would later move to County Limerick to attend boarding school. By this time, Hayes was proficient at piano and found that the music used to counter the boredom of living in a small village. She would later move to Dublin City to attend UCD to study sociology, psychology and history. "Cloudbusting" is a song written, produced and performed by English singer Kate Bush. It was the second single released from her number-one album ''Hounds of Love'' (1985). "Cloudbusting" peaked at No. 20 on the UK Singles Chart. Taking inspiration from the 1973 Peter Reich memoir ''A Book of Dreams'', which Bush read and found deeply moving, the song is about the very close relationship between psychiatrist and philosopher Wilhelm Reich and his young son, Peter, told from the point of view of the mature Peter. It describes the boy's memories of his life with Reich on their family farm, called Orgonon, where the two spent time "cloudbusting", a rain-making process which involved using a machine designed and built by Reich – a machine called a cloudbuster – to point at the sky.
