Let Go (M-Flo Song)
"Let Go" is a song recorded and produced by Japanese hip-hop trio M-Flo, featuring Yoshika. It was released as the first single for the group's fourth studio album ''Beat Space Nine'' (2005) through Rhythm Zone on November 17, 2004. The release contains a B-side track titled "The Other Side of Love", as well as instrumental versions of both songs. Despite peaking at only number 12 on the Oricon Singles Chart upon its release, "Let Go" was certified multiple times by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) in various categories. including triple platinum for full-length ringtone downloads (chaku-uta full) and double platinum for digital downloads. The single has sold over 124,000 physical copies since its release. M-Flo
is a Japanese hip hop group consisting of record producer DJ Taku Takahashi, Verbal and Lisa. Lisa left the group in 2002 to pursue a solo career and the remaining members then started the M-Flo Loves... project working different vocalists for each song over three albums, including the likes of Namie Amuro, Bonnie Pink, Koda Kumi and BoA. Their mainstream success and critical acclaim established them as the most iconic and influential hip-hop production team in Japan with success throughout Asia. Taku Takahashi and Verbal also started successful side-projects outside M-Flo, such as the Teriyaki Boyz and Global Astro Alliance collaborating with international producers and artists such as Kanye West and the Beastie Boys. Yoshika (singer)
is a Japanese singer, who sings mainly with R&B influences. Her major label debut album, ''Timeless'', was released in January 2006. Biography Yoshika spent much of her youth in Canada and the United States, studying at a high school in Modesto, California and influenced by American R&B. Influenced by Common (rapper), India.Arie, and Jill Scott, she returned to Japan at the age of 18. She recorded a song titled "Jolie" for a TV commercial which was picked up for release, leading to her meeting Japanese Hip-Hop producers M-Flo. For her major label debut "Timeless" on Atlantic Records she intended to bring a strong sense of American R&B to a new Japanese scene led by Double (singer), Heartsdales, and Bennie K. ''Beat Space Nine'' is the fourth studio album released by the Japanese group M-Flo. The record is presented in the metaformat of a spaceliner's in-flight entertainment system, specifically that of "Global Astroliner", constituting a recurring theme in the group's albums. Similarly to their previous works, the majority of the tracks contain guest features—including that of Bennie K, Yoshika, and Emyli. A commercial success in Japan, the album became the group's first, and to-date only, record to peak at number one on the Oricon Albums Chart.
