"Let's See Action" is a song written and composed by Pete Townshend and recorded by the Who. It was released as a single in the UK in 1971 and reached #16 in the charts. Song notes The song is the first of three non-album singles by the Who, that were intended for the aborted '' Lifehouse'' project. Pete Townshend's demo version, which appears on his first major label solo album ''Who Came First'' as "Nothing Is Everything (Let's See Action)", is longer than the version on the single and contains the additional lines, "Rumor has it minds are open. Then rumors fill them up with lies." The band's bassist, John Entwistle, said that the track was Pete Townshend "Trying to talk to the kids in general." The Who
The Who are an English rock band formed in London in 1964. Hooligans (album)
''Hooligans'' is a double compilation album of The Who released by MCA Records in 1981. It focuses on Who songs from the 1970s with only the titles " I Can't Explain", "I Can See for Miles" and " Pinball Wizard" from the 1960s. The album reached #52 on the US charts. It is most notable as the first US album to include three hard to find Who singles. The 1971 UK single "Let's See Action" was not released in the US, and for this album the title was changed to "(Nothing Is Everything) Let's See Action". Two other singles, " Join Together" and "Relay", were released both in the UK and US in 1972. US releases of "Relay" were re-titled "The Relay". The version of the song on this album was edited by use of a fade that occurs about 25 seconds early. Billed as The Who Hits 50!, The Who's 2014–16 tour was a tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of the band. Roger Daltrey has referred to this tour as the band's "long goodbye" hinting that it will be the final tour for The Who. ''Rarities Volume I & Volume II'' is a two-album series collecting songs by The Who, released in 1983 on Polydor in the United Kingdom. Release history The first release in this series was a single LP titled ''"Join Together - Rarities"'' issued by Polydor in Australia and New Zealand in 1982. This album contained Who songs from UK singles released between 1970 and 1973 that had not previously appeared on LP. It included a version of the B-side "I Don't Even Know Myself" that fades out about 30 seconds early, while eliminating the full ending heard on the single.
