Let's Get Lost (1997 Film)
''Let's Get Lost'' is a 1997 Danish film written and directed by Jonas Elmer and produced by Per Holst. The film is an improvisational slice-of-life comedy shot in black and white. The film earned the 1998 Bodil Award for Best Danish Film and shared the Robert Award for Best Danish Film with '' Barbara''. Plot Julie has been abandoned by her boyfriend and seeks revenge. Mogens borrowed her sofa for a weekend but has been living there for the past 13 years. He aspires to become a composer but is living on welfare. Thomas wants to become a writer but is still struggling with his first chapter and works as a hospital porter. Steffen is deceiving the unemployment insurance system. Jonas Elmer (director)
Jonas Elmer (born 14 March 1966) is a Danish film director, screenwriter and previously an actor. In 1988 he was a production assistant at the set of ''Family Business'', starring Sean Connery. Elmer graduated in direction at the National Film School of Denmark in 1995. His debut as a director came with the Danish film '' Let's Get Lost'' which won him a Robert and Bodil Award for Best Danish Film. Since then, he has directed the Danish feature films ''Monas verden'' and '' Nynne''. He has also directed 21 episodes of the Danish sit-com '' Langt fra Las Vegas''. He directed his first American feature film in 2008, ''New in Town'', starring Renée Zellweger and Harry Connick, Jr, which was released in January 2009. In 2013 he directed the film ''In Real Life'', a production about human desire to have their unmet needs satisfied, and shows their passions, desperation and delusion. Vera Gebuhr
Vera Margrethe Gebuhr (15 May 1916 – 22 December 2014) was a Danish film, television and stage actress. Gebuhr was most noted for her portrayal of the snobbish neurotic head saleswoman Miss Jørgensen in the popular television series ''Matador (Danish TV series), Matador''. She trained at the Royal Danish Theatre school from 1937 to 1939 and debuted at the Folketeatret, Copenhagen, Folketeatret, working there until 1964. She played her first lead film role as the scheming maid in the 1943 melodrama ''Møllen''. Gebuhr appeared in 65 films between 1937 and 2005, as well as made numerous appearances on Danish television series. Gebuhr married twice: to journalist Pallet Fønss and civil engineer Thomas Purl. In 1999, she received the Preben Neergaard honorary award. She died in her home at the age of 98 on 22 December 2014. Bodil Award
The Bodil Awards are the major Danish film awards given by the Danish Film Critics Association. The awards are presented annually at a ceremony in Copenhagen. Established in 1948, it is one of the oldest film awards in Europe. The awards are given without regard to commercial interests or box-office sales, but rather to highlight the films or actors that the critics regard as most worthy. The name of the award honours two of the most important actresses in Danish cinema, Bodil Kjer and Bodil Ipsen. The statuette is made of porcelain, and was designed by Danish artist and sculpted by Svend Jespersen of Bing & Grøndahl.
