Lester F. Eastman
Lester Fuess Eastman (May 21, 1928 – August 9, 2013) was an American physicist, engineer and educator. Eastman worked primarily with the development of high frequency semiconductor device engineering and science technologies from the early 1960s through to his retirement. Early Years Lester (Les) F. Eastman was born in Utica New York on May 21, 1928 to Mayme Lois Fuess Eastman and Howard Socrates Eastman, Jr. The middle, and only son in a family with four girls (Beverly, Jean, Dorothy and Gratia Eastman), his family’s circumstances during the Depression were poor, but both his parents were educated and placed a high value on all their children achieving academic excellence and serving their community. A semiconductor device is an electronic component that relies on the electronic properties of a semiconductor material (primarily silicon, germanium, and gallium arsenide, as well as organic semiconductors) for its function. USS ''Coral Sea'' (CV/CVB/CVA-43), a , was the third ship of the United States Navy to be named for the Battle of the Coral Sea. She earned the affectionate nickname "''Ageless Warrior''" through her long career. Donald MacLean Kerr, Jr. (born April 8, 1939) served as the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence from 2007 to 2009. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on Thursday, October 4, 2007. David F. Welch, Ph.D, (born October 26, 1960) is an American businessman and research scientist. Welch is a pioneer in the field of optical devices and optical transport systems for telecommunications networks. Welch first made it possible to commercially deploy reliable 980 nm laser pumps, needed in low noise optical amplifiers employed in dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) telecommunications systems.
