Leslie Harris is the president and chief executive officer of the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT) in Washington, D.C. in the United States. Harris joined CDT in 2005 as executive director. She manages the organization and serves its chief spokesperson, and has occasionally testified before Congress. CDT prepared a detailed Internet policy document for the Obama administration and Harris said she felt the administration had listened. She founded Leslie Harris & Associates, and has worked for People for the American Way and the American Civil Liberties Union. Leslie Harris is an American film director, screenwriter and producer. Biography Director, screenwriter and producer Leslie Harris was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1960. Harris earned a degree from Denison University, earning a B.F.A. in Studio Arts. She also studied abroad in Aix-En-Provence, France during her junior year. Her early film work consisted of animations and live action shorts. Harris moved to New York in 1982 where she began working in the advertising industry, including for major advertising firms such as FCB and Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide (both members of the American Association of Advertising Agencies). Harris soon grew frustrated with the limits of the advertising industry and moved into directing commercials. Harris established her own commercials company catering to the small business community such as the "Exceptional Women of Color Hair Salon". Leslie Julius Harris (1898-1973) was a British biochemist and nutritionist. He was Director of the Dunn Nutritional Laboratory (now the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit) in Cambridge, UK, from its foundation in 1927 until his retirement in 1963. He was instrumental in setting up the (BritishNutrition Society and thInternational Union of Nutrition Societies His research focused primarily on vitamins, including developing the saturation test for assessing vitamin C levels in a urine sample, and showing that vitamins A and D are harmful in excess. Leslie Frederick Harris (1939 – 17 February 2009) was an English businessman and motorcycle enthusiast who resurrected the Triumph Bonneville for a few years in the 1980s. Born in 1939, he was described as the "saviour of the British motorcycle industry". Invited to Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament, in 1987 he was visited by the Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. He died in February 2009, aged 69. L F Harris International Ltd Harris began his own business in 1974 manufacturing and selling spare parts for classic motorcycles. As the leading British manufacturers such as Norton Motorcycles, BSA and Triumph went out of business, Harris bought as many spare parts as he could and set up L F Harris International Ltd at a warehouse in Newton Abbot.
