''Les Hommes Morts sont Dangereux'' ( en, Dead Men are Dangerous) is the only studio album by the France, French electro-punk rock band, band Métal Urbain. The album was originally released in 1981 on vinyl record, vinyl. Songs on the album are a compilation of the group's singles from the previous three years ("Paris Maquis", "Hystérie connective" and "Panik") and John Peel BBC, BBC Radio 1 session recordings. Re-releases ''Hommes morts'' was re-released on CD on 1 October 2006 in France as a limited & signed 25th anniversary vinyl replica CD edition, with two bonus tracks on Seventeen Records, Métal Urbain right owners. A re-release in Japan from Polystar under licence from Seventeen Records on December 2003 took the form of a double album, double CD with more additional tracks. Métal Urbain
Métal Urbain (meaning ''urban metal'') was one of the first French Punk rock, punk groups, formed in 1976 in Paris. Career They were heavily influenced by the Clash and Sex Pistols on one hand, and on the other by an electro approach related to ''Metal Machine Music'' by Lou Reed. They relied on heavily distorted guitars and replaced the traditional rock rhythm section of bass guitar/drums with a synthesizer and drum machine, a then-unique approach that foreshadowed the experimental possibilities that were explored by later post-hardcore bands such as Big Black. They were also known for their radical image (the color scheme of albums always being a stark black, white and red), and subversive lyrics sung in French language, French.
