Les Roberts (born July 18, 1937) is an American screenwriter and mystery novelist. Biography Roberts was born Lester Roubert, to Lester Nathaniel and Eleanor (Bauch) Roubert in Chicago, Illinois; he changed his name to Roberts in 1968. Roberts attended the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and Roosevelt University (1954–1956), served in the U.S. Army (1960–1962), and married Gail Medland in 1957; they divorced in 1980. Roberts has two children, Valerie Lynne and Darren Jon, one grandchild, Shea Holland Thompson. He currently lives in Stow, Ohio. Social views Roberts became a vegan c. 2012 after watching 'Peaceable Kingdom: The Journey Home' stating: Writing career Roberts began his career as a contemporary American mystery novelist after twenty-four years in Hollywood, having written and/or produced more than 2,500 half-hour segments of network and syndicated television. Les Roberts (born 1961) is an American epidemiologist. He was the first winner of the Centers for Disease Control's Paul C. Schnitker Award for contributions to global health. He became prominent in the news just before the 2004 U.S. presidential election for his study estimating that 100,000 Iraqi civilians had been killed in the Iraq war at a time when official U.S. government counts were much lower. When a 2006 follow-up study confirmed the report, U.S. President George W. Leslie Roberts (born June 28, 1964) is a Canadian television and radio personality, currently the host of ''CTV Morning Live'' in Ottawa. He was previously the host of ''The Leslie Roberts Show'' on CJAD in Montreal, until announcing on December 4, 2018 that he would be leaving the station as of December 21. Family Roberts was raised in a family full of journalists. Roberts' great-grandfather John H. Roberts founded and ran a controversial reformist Montreal tabloid newspaper called ''The Axe'' between 1922–24. His grandfather and namesake was a writer and journalist.
