Les Oiseaux Du Ciel
''Beyond the Ocean'' ( French release titles: ''Les Oiseaux du ciel'' and ''Après l'océan'') is a 2006 film directed by Éliane de Latour. Latour also did the screenplay. The film showed in the Panorama section of the 56th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2006. It also showed at the 2006 Edinburgh International Film Festival. Plot Otho and Shad leave Abidjan to try their luck in Europe. They have a dream, to return to their country as heroes. However, exile is not a bed of roses. Once in Spain, Otho is arrested and deported to Côte d'Ivoire without attaining his goal. His former friends turn their backs on him. Shad manages to make his way to England where he meets Tango, a young rebellious Frenchwoman. The two lovers lean on each other for support, but the obstacles they must overcome are numerous. Arte (; (), sometimes stylized in lowercase or uppercase in its logo) is a European public service channel dedicated to culture. Kad Merad (born Kaddour Merad, ar, قدور ميراد, link=no; 27 March 1964) is a French-Algerian filmmaker and actor who has acted both on stage and on screen. Life and career Kad Merad was born in Sidi Bel Abbès, Algeria, on 27 March 1964 to an Algerian father and a French mother. During his teens, he played drums and sang with various rock bands. Soon afterwards, he started playing roles at Club Med alongside the Gigolo Brothers troupe. In 1990, he was hired by Ouï FM, the Paris rock radio station where he met Olivier Baroux. The duet most known as Kad & Olivier began working together and started their own show, the ''Rock'n Roll Circus'', introducing some of their most famous sketches (Pamela Rose, Teddy Porc Fidèle...). The early success of the show allowed them to meet Jean-Luc Delarue who brought their act to TV.
