Catalonia is (as of 2018) divided into 947 Municipalities of Spain, municipalities. Each municipality typically represents one significant urban settlement, of any size from village to city, with its surrounding land. This is not always the case, though. Exclave
An enclave is a territory (or a small territory apart of a larger one) that is entirely surrounded by the territory of one other state or entity. Enclaves may also exist within territorial waters. La Pobla De Lillet
La Pobla de Lillet is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Berguedà in Catalonia. It is located in the upper valley of the Llobregat river and is linked to Guardiola de Berguedà by Road B-402. Alpens
Alpens () is a municipality situated in the Lluçanès zone, within the ''Comarques of Catalonia, comarca'' of Osona, in the Barcelona (province), province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Alpens is located 105 km from the city of Barcelona and 35 km from the comarca capital, Vic. In the municipal area there are ruins of a fortress which dates to the year 1109, the fortress of Freixenet. It is one of the places catalogued by the government as sites of Spanish cultural heritage. There is also the 10th-century church of Sant Pere de Serrallonga. In 2015, the municipality voted to join a proposed new comarca of Lluçanès, but the plan was put on hold due to insufficient support. Ripoll
Ripoll () is the capital of the ''comarca'' of Ripollès, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is located on confluence of the Ter River and its tributary Freser, next to the Pyrenees near the French border. The population was 11,057 in 2009. The first traces of humans inhabiting the area date from the Bronze Age and can be seen in form of dolmens such as those found in ''El Sot de Dones Mortes'' or in ''Pardinella''. This area was later used by peoples from the Atlantic culture to store bronze weapons and as a passway from the Catalan Central Depression to the Pyrenees. The area also has tombs from the late Roman occupation age and some belonging to the Visigoths. It has a famous Benedictine monastery built in the Romanesque style, Santa Maria de Ripoll, founded by the count Wilfred the Hairy in 879.
