Les Leggett
Leslie R. Leggett (September 3, 1927 – October 14, 2011) was an American football coach. His son Jack Leggett is the long-time head coach for the Clemson Tigers baseball team. Football coaching career After graduating from the University of Maine in 1951, Leggett served as a coach at Old Town High School in Old Town, Maine. In 1956, he served as an assistant football coach at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington. The following season, he was hired as the head coach at Portland State University. At Portland State, he held the head coaching position for two seasons, from 1957 until 1958. His coaching record at Portland State was 6–11. He resigned from his position at Portland State in April 1959 to take over as head coach at Adrian. At Adrian College in Adrian, Michigan Adrian is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan and the county seat of Lenawee County. The population was 20,645 at the 2020 census. Adrian College
Adrian College is a private liberal arts college in Adrian, Michigan. The college offers bachelor's degrees in 92 academic majors and programs. The 100 acre (0.40 km2) campus contains newly constructed facilities along with historic buildings. Adrian College is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The spring 2020-21 enrollment was 1,677 students. History The college has its origin as a theological institute founded by Wesleyan Methodists at Leoni, Michigan, in 1845. This institution merged with Leoni Seminary, another Methodist school, in 1855 to form Michigan Union College. In 1859, that institution closed and its assets were transferred to Adrian "through the efforts of the antislavery leader and educator, Rev. Adrian is a form of the Latin given name Adrianus or Hadrianus. Its ultimate origin is most likely via the former river Adria from the Venetic and Illyrian word ''adur'', meaning "sea" or "water". The Adria was until the 8th century BC the main channel of the Po River into the Adriatic Sea but ceased to exist before the 1st century BC.
