Yves Simoneau (; born October 28, 1955) is a Canadian film and television director. Simoneau was born in Quebec City, Quebec. Recognition His acclaimed 1986 crime drama '' Intimate Power (Pouvoir intime)'' garnered multiple Genie Awards nominations including best direction at the 8th Genie Awards. Jean-Louis Millette
Jean-Louis Millette (; 4 January 1935 – 29 September 1999) was a Canadian French-speaking actor and writer. Millette was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Millette's television career spanned over thirty years: he was a cast member of many of the best-known series in Quebec, including the children's series '' La Ribouldingue'' (which he also co-wrote), '' L'Héritage'', '' Symphorien'' and '' Montréal P.Q.'' Genie Award
The Genie Awards were given out annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to recognize the best of Canadian cinema from 1980–2012. They succeeded the Canadian Film Awards (1949–1978; also known as the "Etrog Awards," for sculptor Sorel Etrog, who designed the statuette). Genie Award candidates were selected from submissions made by the owners of Canadian films or their representatives, based on the criteria laid out in the ''Genie Rules and Regulations'' booklet which is distributed to Academy members and industry members.
