Les Corts (district)
Les Corts () is one of the ten districts into which Barcelona, Spain has been divided up since 1984, numbered IV. It was created in 1897 out of two former municipalities: Les Corts de Sarrià and some parts of Sarrià (the remaining of which went to become the current district of Sarrià-Sant Gervasi). It had 82,588 inhabitants in the 2005 census, which makes it the least populous district of the city. It is located in the western part of the city, next to three other districts of Barcelona : Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Eixample as well as Sants-Montjuïc, and two municipalities of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona: L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and Esplugues de Llobregat. Avinguda De Josep Tarradellas, Barcelona
Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas, often known as just Avinguda Tarradellas, is an avenue in Barcelona. Most of it is in the Les Corts district of the city, while the rest acts as the border of two other districts: Sants-Montjuïc and Eixample. It starts at Plaça dels Països Catalans, by Barcelona Sants railway station, and ends at Plaça de Francesc Macià. It's named after Josep Tarradellas, the first president of the Generalitat de Catalunya in office after the Spanish transition to democracy. La Maternitat I Sant Ramon
La Maternitat i Sant Ramon is a neighborhood in the '' les Corts'' district of Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain), the westernmost area of the district, distinctly more working class than its neighbours Pedralbes and Les Corts and similar to the also neighbouring L'Hospitalet de Llobregat and Sants. It was part of the former independent municipality of Les Corts, also known as les Corts de Sarrià. Its name stems from the 19th century maternity house known as La Maternitat, in Travessera de Les Corts, designed by Camil Oliveres i Gensana and which includes a large garden. It's made up of residential areas to the west such as Sant Ramon proper and the Torre Melina buildings, and the build-up areas of La Maternitat and Can Bacardí to the east. Masia
A masia in Catalan (or es, masía and an, pardina) is a type of rural construction common to the east of Spain: Catalonia, Valencian Community, Aragon, Languedoc and Provence (in the south of France). The estate in which the masia is located is called a mas. They are often large but isolated structures, nearly always associated with a family farming or livestock operation. Through the ages, the materials used to construct masias varied, often determined by their location. In mountainous areas, rough stone was often used, except for doorways, windows and arches, where stone was worked. During the Middle Ages, mud was used as mortar, though later on it was replaced by quicklime or cement. In places where stone was hard to come by, adobe was more common as a construction material. Esplugues de Llobregat () is a municipality of the Barcelona metropolitan area. Formerly in the ''Barcelonès'', since 1990 it has been part of the comarca of Baix Llobregat. L'Hospitalet De Llobregat
L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (; es, Hospitalet de Llobregat), often shortened to L'Hospitalet or just L'H, is a municipality of Spain, located to the immediate southwest of Barcelona, in the autonomous community of Catalonia.
