Leroy Lugg
Leroy St Aubin Lugg (born 5 August 1996) is a Jamaican first-class cricketer. Lugg was born at Kingston in August 1996. He played for the West Indies under-19 cricket team in 2013, making six Youth One Day International appearances during the series. In the opening match, Lugg scored 69 runs, but was disappointed with his performance, considering himself to have not been timing the ball well during his innings. In 2022, he was one of three debutants included in the Jamaica squad for their first two 2021–22 West Indies Championship matches, with Lugg making his debut in first-class cricket against Trinidad and Tobago. Kingston is the capital and largest city of Jamaica, located on the southeastern coast of the island. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs. At a meeting of the Imperial Cricket Conference (ICC) in 1947, it was formally defined on a global basis. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). 2022 Caribbean Premier League
The 2022 Caribbean Premier League (CPLT20) or CPL 10 or for sponsorship reasons, Hero CPL 2022 was the tenth season of the Caribbean Premier League, the domestic Twenty20 cricket league that was played in the West Indies. The tournament was held from 31 August, with the final played on 30 September 2022. A women's tournament was also held concurrent with the men's tournament. Saint Lucia Kings
Saint Lucia Kings (formerly known as St Lucia Stars and St Lucia Zouks) are the representative team of Saint Lucia in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) of cricket. It is one of the six teams created in 2013 for the inaugural season of the tournament. The Zouks won only 4 games out of 14 in the first two seasons finishing last and second last in the tournament respectively. For the 2017 season, the franchise chose to rebrand under a new name and logo as the St Lucia Stars. In 2018, St Lucia Stars finished fifth in Caribbean Premier League winning three out of their ten matches. Twenty20
Twenty20 (T20) is a shortened game format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of 20 overs. Together with first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three current forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being at the highest international or domestic level. A typical Twenty20 game is completed in about two and a half hours, with each innings lasting around 70 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. 2021–22 West Indies Championship
The 2021–22 West Indies Championship was the 55th edition of the Regional Four Day Competition, the domestic first-class cricket competition for the countries of the Cricket West Indies (CWI), which started on 9 February 2022. Six teams contested the tournament – Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, the Leeward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Windward Islands. The series was played for the Headley–Weekes Trophy, named after George Headley and Sir Everton Weekes. Barbados were the defending champions. The last domestic first-class matches played in the West Indies took place in March 2020, during the 2019–20 West Indies Championship.
