Lera Boroditsky (born c.1976) is a cognitive scientist and professor in the fields of language and cognition. She is one of the main contributors to the theory of linguistic relativity. She is a Searle Scholar, a McDonnell Scholar, recipient of a National Science Foundation Career award, and an American Psychological Association Distinguished Scientist. She is Professor of Cognitive Science at the University of California, San Diego. She previously served on the faculty at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and at Stanford. Biography Kudryavtseva was born in Ust-Kamenogorsk in 1971 in an ethnic Russian family. Although initially dreaming of a career as a doctor, Kudryavtseva enters the local cultural institute. While her sister moves to Moscow, Kurdyavtseva stays in her hometown and starts working at the local House of Culture, organising concerts. One of the concerts happens to be with the then popular boy band Laskovyi Mai. Lera Millard Thomas (August 3, 1900 – July 23, 1993) was an American politician who served as U.S. Representative in Congress representing the Eighth District of Texas from 1966 to 1967, after the death of her husband, Congressman Albert Thomas. She was the first woman to represent Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives. She also founded Millard's Crossing Historic Village. Joe Lera (born 18 January 1961) was a Papua New Guinean politician from 2012 to 2020. He was a United Resources Party member of the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea, representing the Bougainville Regional seat. Although regional members generally assume the position of Governor, due to the existence of the devolved Autonomous Bougainville Government Lera was referred to as the "Regional Member for Bougainville". He is also an expert on the preservation and the conservation of bats and caves and has been a vice-president of the National Speleological Society.
