Leopoldina Bălănuță
Leopoldina Bălănuță (; 10 December 1934 – 14 October 1998) was a Romanian actress. Biography She was born in her grandparents' house in Hăulișca, Vrancea County, the daughter of Neculai Bălănuță, a priest, and Sanda. She was a 1958 graduate of the Institute of Theatre and Film Arts (IATC), Bucharest. In 1967, Bălănuță was awarded the , fourth class. Her father was an Orthodox priest in Focșani. She was married to actor Mitică Popescu. She died in Bucharest, and was buried in the city's Bellu Cemetery. Focșani (; yi, פֿאָקשאַן, Fokshan) is the capital city of Vrancea County in Romania on the banks the river Milcov, in the historical region of Moldavia. It has a population () of 79,315. Geography Focșani lies at the foot of the Curvature Carpathians, at a point of convergence for tectonic geologic faults, which raises the risk of earthquakes in the vicinity. Though Vrancea County is one of the most popular wine-producing regions in Romania, Odobești being just to the northwest, in Romania, Focșani itself is not considered a wine-producing center.
