Leonel Vangioni
Leonel Jesús Vangioni Rangel (born 5 May 1987) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a left-back for Newell's Old Boys in the Argentine Primera División. Vangioni is known for scoring the decisive penalty that won Monterrey the Apertura 2019 tournament against Club América. Club career His grandfather, Davide Roca, originated from Riesi in the Province of Caltanissetta, Sicily. Vangioni made his professional debut for Newell's in November 2006 and soon established himself as an important member of the first team squad. He scored his first goal in a game against San Lorenzo de Almagro on 4 August 2007. He moved to River Plate in January 2013 for a fee around €1.1 million. The CONMEBOL Sudamericana, named as ''Copa Sudamericana'' (; pt, Copa Sul-Americana ), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 2002. A total of 20 teams competed in two championships —the Apertura and Clausura— over the course of the season, which started on August 6, 2010 and ended on June 30, 2011, one day prior to the start of the 2011 Copa América, held in Argentina. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The 2008-09 Primera División season was the 118th season of top-flight professional football in Argentina and the nineteenth season in which the Apertura and Clausura system is used. Boca Juniors won the Apertura championship for their 29th national title after a three team playoff with Tigre and San Lorenzo. The 2006–07 Argentina Primera Division was the 116th season of first division football in Argentina. Estudiantes (LP) won the Torneo Apertura and San Lorenzo won the Torneo Clausura. Belgrano and Quilmes were relegated to the Primera B Nacional and Huracan and Tigre were promoted after winning the relegation playoff against Godoy Cruz and Nueva Chicago respectively.
