Leonard Katzman
Leonard Katzman (September 2, 1927 – September 5, 1996) was an American film and television producer, writer and director. He was most notable for being the showrunner of the CBS oil soap opera ''Dallas''. Early life and career Leonard Katzman was born in New York City on September 2, 1927, to a Jewish family. He began his career in the 1940s, while still in his teens, working as an assistant director for his uncle, Hollywood producer Sam Katzman. ''Riding with Buffalo Bill'' is a 1954 American Western Serial film directed by Spencer Gordon Bennet and starring Marshall Reed. Plot Buffalo Bill Cody comes to aid the miner Rocky Ford and a group of ranchers in their defeat of a local crime lord, King Carney, who is trying to keep the new railroad out of the territory in order to carry on with his illegal operations. Westerns On Television
Television westerns are a subgenre of the Western, a genre of film, fiction, drama, television programming, etc., in which stories are set primarily in the later half of the 19th century in the American Old West, Western Canada and Mexico during the period from about 1860 to the end of the so-called "Indian Wars". More recent entries in the Western genre have placed events in the modern day but still draw inspiration from the outlaw attitudes prevalent in traditional Western productions. ''Tallahassee 7000'' is a syndicated 1961 American TV series starring Walter Matthau as Special Agent Lex Rogers of the Florida Sheriffs Bureau. It consisted of 26 episodes of 30 minutes each. It was executive produced by Herbert Leonard. The bureau (the only one of its kind in the United States) helped sheriffs in Florida's 67 counties. The show's title was the phone number of the bureau. ''Face of a Fugitive'' is a 1959 American Western film directed by Paul Wendkos. It stars Fred MacMurray, Lin McCarthy, Myrna Fahey, James Coburn and Dorothy Green and was based on the short story "Long Gone" by Peter Dawson, the pen name of Jonathan H. Glidden (older brother of Luke Short). Dawson was the author of 120 Western short stories and novelettes as well as 15 book length Western serials. The working title was ''Justice Ends with a Gun''.
