Leonard Hall (boxer)
Leonard A. Hall (born 20 September 1907, date of death unknown) was a Rhodesian and later South African boxer who competed in the 1928 Summer Olympics. He was born in Johannesburg. In 1928 while representing Rhodesia, he defeated William Walther of Germany before being eliminated in the second round of the welterweight class after losing his bout to Kintaro Usuda of Japan. William Leonard Hall (1866 – 29 June 1916) was a British people, British trade union leader, journalist, and socialist activist, who held prominent positions in the Independent Labour Party. Biography Born in Windermere, Cumbria (town), Windermere, a part of Cumberland at the time, he was one of six children of Spencer Timothy Hall, a Homeopathy, homeopath with degrees from the University of Tübingen and University of Cincinnati. However, these degrees were not recognised in the UK, leaving the family in financial difficulty. Leonard left school at the age of thirteen to work delivering parcels. He undertook various jobs until he was sixteen, when he became a sailor. He travelled to the United States, and worked there for a time, including a stint as a cowboy. Leonard Hall is a historic educational building located on the campus of Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. Built in 1881 and originally named Leonard Medical Center, it became known as Leonard Medical School, and then Leonard Hall. It was established when medical schools were professionalizing and was the first medical school in the United States to offer a four-year curriculum. The building was named after Judson Wade Leonard, the brother-in-law of Shaw's founder Henry Martin Tupper. Classes began in 1882 and the annual tuition was $60, a substantial sum at the time. It is a contributing part of the East Raleigh-South Park Historic District, listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. In 1994 it was designated a North Carolina Historic Landmark.
