Legislative Assembly Of Saskatchewan
The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. The legislature has been unicameral since its establishment; there has never been a provincial upper house. The 29th Saskatchewan Legislature was elected at the 2020 Saskatchewan general election. Thomas Russell MacNutt
Thomas Russell MacNutt (September 28, 1895 – February 21, 1973) was a merchant and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Nipawin from 1952 to 1956 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Liberal. He was born in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan, the son of Thomas MacNutt and Margaret McFayden, and was educated there and at the College of Agriculture in Saskatoon. MacNutt served in France with the Third Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Corps during World War I, was commander of the First Battalion, King's Own Rifles of Canada on the Pacific Coast from 1932 to 1938 and also served in the army during World War II. He married Pearl Rusk. MacNutt was secretary-treasurer for the rural municipality of Saltcoats from 1926 to 1947. Robert Irvin "Bob" Perkins (June 30, 1898 – October 29, 1992) was a farmer and political figure in Saskatchewan. He represented Nipawin from 1960 to 1964 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) member. Nipawin was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. This district was created before the 9th Saskatchewan general election in 1938 as "Torch River", after the rural municipality and the river that flows through it. Redrawn and renamed "Nipawin" in 1952, the constituency was dissolved before the 23rd Saskatchewan general election in 1995. Fairview, Oklahoma
Fairview is a city in Major County, Oklahoma, United States. Its population was 2,579 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Major County. History The first permanent settlers arrived in the area of the present town at the time of the Cherokee Outlet land opening on September 16, 1893. The town received its name from Adam Bower, an early settler, because of its scenic location along the Cimarron River. The Social Credit Party of Saskatchewan (originally known as the Social Credit League of Saskatchewan) was a political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan that promoted social credit economic theories from the mid-1930s to the mid-1970s. Social Credit first appeared in Saskatchewan in the 1935 federal election, when the party received 20% of the popular vote and won two seats in Kindersley and The Battlefords. The party fought its first election campaign in the 1938 provincial election, and won 15.90% of the popular vote. Because Saskatchewan, like the other provinces and the federal government of Canada, uses the 'first past the post' system for electing its Legislative Assembly, only two of the 40 Social Credit candidates won election in 52 seats available in the legislature.
