Leo Iorga
Biography Iorga was born in Arad on 2 December 1964 and died on 2 November 2019, after eight years with lung cancer. He was 54 years old. He started to play at the age of 14 as a drummer in the "Ioan Slavici" high school band. Until 1985 he collaborated with the group "Pacific". In 1988 he worked as a vocalist in the band Cargo releasing the hits "Brigadierii", "Povestiri din gară" and "Erata". From the autumn of 1988 to 1996 he was the vocalist of the band Compact in the composition: Leo Iorga, Adrian Ordean, Vlady Cnejevici, Teo Peter, Emil Laghia and Leluț Vasilescu, a band cataloged by Florian Pittiș and many others as the "golden formula of the Compact". In 1989, with Leo Iorga as vocalist, the band Compact sang at the "Mitt Ein Ander" festival in Berlin. They have three tours in the Republic of Moldova (1988, 1990, 1992). Arad (; German and Hungarian: ''Arad,'' ) is the capital city of Arad County, Transylvania. Iris (Romanian Band)
Iris is a Romanian rock band established in February 1977 by Ioan 'Nelu' Dumitrescu (drums), Ion 'Nuțu' Olteanu (lead solo guitar and vocals) and Emil Lechințeanu (bass guitar). They achieved success, followed by tours throughout Romania and recordings for radio broadcast. At the 2006 MTV Romania Music Awards, Iris won the Best Rock Award and were nominated for Best Band and Best Live Act. History Iris began in 1975-1976 with Emil Lechințeanu, Ioan 'Nelu' Dumitrescu and Ion 'Nuțu' Olteanu. Through the years, the band has experienced many line-up changes. In 45 years of activity, Iris became one of the biggest names in Romanian music history. Holograf
Holograf is a modern rock band from Romania. Since the band's formation in 1978, Holograf released 18 albums. The band won the Excellence Prize at Romanian Media Music Awards in 2013, the awards for best pop-rock artist and best pop-rock song at Radio Romania Music Awards Gala in 2014 and was nominated multiple times at Romanian Music Awards for Best Group and for Best Song. History It was founded in 1978 by Mihai Pocorschi (guitar, voice), Eugen Sonia (bass guitar), Cristian Lesciuc (solo guitar) and Boris Petroff (drums). In 1979 Edi Petroșel (drums) și Tino Furtună (keyboards) joined and are still part of the band. The band received awards at Club A Festival and at other festivals, which helped the band getting signed with Electrecord, the biggest Romanian label at that time, and launched Holograf 1 in 1983. Florian Pittiș
Florian Pittiș (; 1943–2007) was a Romanian stage and television actor, theatre director, folk music singer, and radio producer. He attended the Gheorghe Lazăr High School in Bucharest and in 1968 he graduated from the Institute of Theatre. As a young actor he was hired at one of the best theatres in Bucharest, the Bulandra Theatre, where he worked with directors such as Andrei Șerban, Liviu Ciulei, Alexandru Tocilescu. In the early '70s he studied in Paris with the well-known mime artist, Marcel Marceau. In 1992, Pittiș was one of the founding members of the band Pasărea Colibri. In 1998, he became the director of Radio Romania Tineret, known as Radio3Net since 2001, the only Romanian radio station that broadcasts exclusively on the Internet.
