''Lenin in 1918'' (russian: Ленин в 1918 году, ''Lenin v 1918 godu'') is a Soviet biographical drama film released in 1939. It gives the background of the Russian Civil War after the October Revolution. The film was directed by Mikhail Romm with E. Aron and I. Simkov as co-directors. The script was written by Aleksei Kapler together with Taisiya Zlatogorova. Nikolai Svobodin
Nikolai Svobodin (20 May 1898 - 20 September 1965) was a Soviet actor of the Socialist realism genre. He was born in village Uzmore, Novouzensk uyezd, Samara Governorate, Russian Empire (modern-day Engelssky District, Saratov Oblast, Russia) as Nikolay Kapitonovich Pechkin. Svobodin was a recipient of the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Medal "For Valiant Labour in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945" and the Medal "In Commemoration of the 800th Anniversary of Moscow". He was a People's Artist of the RSFSR and a recipient of the Stalin Prize. He was a faculty member at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography. He died in Moscow, RSFSR, USSR. Nadezhda Konstantinovna Krupskaya ( rus, links=no, Надежда Константиновна Крупская, p=nɐˈdʲeʐdə kənstɐnˈtʲinəvnə ˈkrupskəjə; 27 February 1939) was a Russian revolutionary and the wife of Vladimir Lenin.
