Lene Løseth (born 26 November 1986, in Ålesund) is a Norwegian alpine skier who races for Spjelkavik IL. At the WC 2007 in Åre she came 38th in the giant slalom and 23rd in the slalom. She is Mona and Nina Løseth's elder sister. Alpine skiing, or downhill skiing, is the pastime of sliding down snow-covered slopes on skis with fixed-heel bindings, unlike other types of skiing ( cross-country, Telemark, or ski jumping), which use skis with free-heel bindings. Spjelkavik IL
Spjelkavik IL is a Norwegian sports club from the neighborhood Spjelkavik in Ålesund. It has sections for football, handball and skiing, and was founded on 18 March 1932. Alpine skiers Mona and Nina Løseth represent the club. The women's football team last played in the top division in 1992. Ann Kristin Aarønes was the top goalscorer during this heyday for the club. Spjelkavik IL currently doesn't have a senior team for women. The men's team currently resides in the 3. divisjon (fourth tier), having last played in the 2. divisjon in 2002. FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2007
The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2007 were the 39th FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, held 2–18 February in Åre, Sweden. Åre previously hosted the world championships in 1954, and often hosts late season World Cup events. The FIS awarded the 2007 event in 2002; other finalists were Lillehammer, Norway, and Val-d'Isère, France, which was later selected to host the 2009 championships. These were the first world championships to use the "super-combined" format (one run each of downhill and slalom) for the combined event. First run on the World Cup circuit in 2005 at Wengen, the "super-combi" format (SC) made its debut at the Winter Olympics in 2010. Mona Løseth (born 11 April 1991) is a Norwegian alpine skier. She was giant slalom Junior World Champion in 2010. Her elder sisters Lene and Nina are also alpine skiers at international level. Nina Haver-Løseth
Nina Haver-Løseth (born 27 February 1989) is a retired Norwegian World Cup alpine ski racer and specializes in the technical events of slalom and giant slalom. Haver-Løseth made her World Cup debut in February 2006, and her first podium came in a slalom race at Zagreb in January 2015. In January 2016, she gained her first World Cup win in a slalom at Santa Caterina, becoming the first Norwegian woman to win a World Cup slalom since Trine Bakke almost exactly sixteen years earlier. Flachau
Flachau is a village in the district of St. Johann im Pongau in the Austrian state of Salzburg, with a population of 2,802 (2016 data). Its numerous skiing facilities are part of the Ski Amadé network of ski areas, one of the largest in Europe.
