Lenah Cheruiyot
Lenah Jemutai Cheruiyot (born 1 March 1973) is a Kenyan former long-distance runner who competed mainly in road running competitions. Her highest international honour was a team gold medal at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 2002, which she shared for finishing seventh. She competed up to the marathon distance and set a best of 2:26:00 hours for that event at the 2008 Paris Marathon, at which she was placed third. Although her international career was limited, she competed extensively on the professional road circuit and won many high calibre races, including: the Venice Marathon (twice), the Humarathon, Lille Half Marathon, Paris Half Marathon (twice), Porto Half Marathon, CPC Loop Den Haag, and 20 Kilomètres de Paris. Anna Lenah Elgström
Anna Helena "Lenah" Maria Elgström, born 29 December 1884 in Helsingborg, died 23 December 1968 in Stockholm, was a Swedish author. Life and career Elgström studied art in Stockholm and Paris and wrote in the Social Democrat until 1948. She was Catholic and active in the women's and peace movement. She married in 1912 with the theatre director Gustaf Collijn, with whom she had a daughter, Ragnhild, circa 1914. She debuted as an author in 1911 with the book "''Gäster och främlingar''" (''Guests and Strangers'') which was well received. During the First World War she was active as an anti-war author. Her most famous work is the "''Den kloka Elsa''" (''The Clever Elsa'') trilogy, which began in 1928, and told the story of the upbringing and development of a young woman by the name of Elsa Holm. Elgström was one of the founders of Save the Children in 1919. She was the sister of Ossian Elgström and the aunt of Jörgen Elgström. She was a life-long catholic. Bibliography *G ...

Lenah Higbee
Lenah H. Sutcliffe Higbee (May 18, 1874 – January 10, 1941) was a pioneering Canadian-born United States Navy military nurse, who served as Commanding officer, Superintendent of the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps during World War I. She is best known for being the first female recipient of the Navy Cross. Early life and education Higbee was born Lenah H. Sutcliffe in Chatham, New Brunswick, Canada, on 18 May 1874. She completed nurses' training at the New York University School of Medicine, New York Post-Graduate Hospital in 1899 and entered private practice soon thereafter. Lenah Higbee took postgraduate training at Fordham Hospital, New York in 1908. In 1899, she married retired United States Marine Corps, Marine Corps Lieutenant colonel (United States), Lieutenant Colonel John H. Higbee. His first wife Isabel Higbee had died in 1898. Lenah Valley, Tasmania
Lenah Valley is a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania. It is situated in the foothills of Mount Wellington, north of the CBD between Mount Stuart, New Town and the City of Glenorchy. Lenah Valley was originally known as Kangaroo Bottom, later Kangaroo Valley and Sassafras Valley. The suburb was amalgamated as Lenah Valley in 1922. ''Lenah'' is the Mouheneenner word for kangaroo. History The eastern end of Lenah Valley was first settled near the older area of Mount Stuart, when the first land grants were issued for agricultural purposes in 1817. The Newlands manor house was built in the late 1830s and had surrounding agricultural interest such as orchards. The manor house influenced development of the surrounding area and ensured that quality homes were built in the surrounding area in order to maintain the reputation of the area.
