Len Isleifson
Len Isleifson is a Canadian provincial politician, who was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba for the riding of Brandon East in the 2016 election. He is a member of the Progressive Conservative party, and defeated incumbent NDP MLA Drew Caldwell in the election. Isleifson made news wires outside of public office during the 2018 FIFA World Cup. When Iceland qualified for the event, he decided to examine whether he was related to any national team members, seeing it as an opportunity to secure bragging rights among his friends. The Legislative Assembly of Manitoba (french: Assemblée législative du Manitoba) is the deliberative assembly of the Manitoba Legislature in the Canadian province of Manitoba. Fifty-seven members are elected to this assembly at provincial general elections, all in single-member constituencies with first-past-the-post voting. Bills passed by the Legislative Assembly are given royal assent by the King of Canada in Right of Manitoba, represented by the Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba. Heimir Hallgrímsson
Heimir Hallgrímsson (born 10 June 1967) is an Icelandic former football player, dentist, and current manager of the Jamaica national football team. Career As a player Heimir started playing for ÍBV from his local town Vestmannaeyjar in 1986. He played with them until 1996 except for the 1993 season in which he played for Höttur while managing their women's team. 2018 FIFA World Cup Squads
The 2018 FIFA World Cup was an international football tournament held in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018. The 32 national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of 23 players, including three goalkeepers. Only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament. A provisional list of 35 players per national team was submitted to FIFA by 14 May 2018, one month prior to the opening match of the tournament. Brandon East
Brandon East is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It encompasses half of the City of Brandon, the other half being represented in Brandon West. Historical riding The original riding of Brandon East existed from 1886 to 1888, when the City and riding of Brandon was divided into two electoral districts for the first time. The city was re-established as a single riding in 1888. Current riding The modern riding of Brandon East was created in 1968, when the City of Brandon was again divided into two separate ridings. The 2018 FIFA World Cup was the 21st FIFA World Cup, the quadrennial world championship for men's national Association football, football teams organized by FIFA. It took place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018, after the country was awarded the hosting rights in 2010.
