Lemmon Valley, Nevada
Lemmon Valley is a census-designated place (CDP) in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. The population was 5,040 at the 2010 census. It is a northern suburb of the city of Reno and is part of the Reno– Sparks Metropolitan Statistical Area. Prior to 2010 it was listed by the U.S. Census Bureau as part of the Lemmon Valley–Golden Valley CDP. Geography Lemmon Valley is located at (39.6638, -119.8270), some north of downtown Reno. Golden Valley is adjacent to the south. Chris Lemmon
Christopher Boyd Lemmon (born June 22, 1954) is an American actor and author. Early life and education Lemmon was born in Los Angeles, California, the son of actress Cynthia Stone and actor Jack Lemmon. Lemmon attended the Verde Valley School in Sedona, Arizona. With a talent for music, he was encouraged by his father to study piano. Lemmon considered playing piano professionally after having graduated from the California Institute of the Arts, with degrees in classical piano and composition, and in theater. Career He appeared as an actor in numerous stage productions, including the west-coast tour of ''Barefoot in the Park'', directed by Jerry Paris, the original West coast production of ''Shay'' by Anne Commire, and A. Robert Stell Lemmon
Robert Stell Lemmon (born 26 June 1885 in Englewood, New Jersey; died 3 March 1964 in Wilton, Connecticut), often Robert S. Lemmon in publications, was an American writer and naturalist. He wrote and lectured on domestic dogs, gardening, wildlife, wild flowers and trees. Most of his writing was non-fiction, but in 1923 he also wrote an adventure short-story called ''The Bamboo Trap'', about an American entomologist caught in a cave in the Ecuadorian jungle. Career Lemmon was the son of William and Caroline Lemmon, née McCulloh. After finishing the Englewood School for Boys he studied at Yale University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1909. He then worked for the American Trading Company. In 1911, he accompanied a zoological expedition of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia to Ecuador. Lemmon (drug)
Methaqualone is a hypnotic sedative. It was sold under the brand names Quaalude ( ) and Sopor among others, which contained 300 mg of methaqualone, and sold as a combination drug under the brand name Mandrax, which contained 250 mg methaqualone and 25 mg diphenhydramine within the same tablet, mostly in Europe. Commercial production of methaqualone was halted in the mid-1980s due to widespread abuse and addictiveness. It is a member of the quinazolinone class. The sedative–hypnotic activity of methaqualone was first noted in 1955. In 1962, methaqualone was patented in the United States by Wallace and Tiernan. Its use peaked in the early 1970s for the treatment of insomnia, and as a sedative and muscle relaxant. Lemmons, also known as Gladsmuir and Gladsmuir House, was the home of novelists Kingsley Amis (1922–1995) and Elizabeth Jane Howard (1923–2014) on the south side of Hadley Common, Barnet, on the border of north London and Hertfordshire.Keulks, Gavin (2003). Mount Lemmon
Mount Lemmon, with a summit elevation of , is the highest point in the Santa Catalina Mountains. It is located in the Coronado National Forest north of Tucson, Arizona, United States. Mount Lemmon was named for botanist Sara Plummer Lemmon, who trekked to the top of the mountain with her husband and E. O. Stratton, a local rancher, by horse and foot in 1881. Mount Lemmon is also known as Babad Do'ag, or Frog Mountain to the Tohono O'odham. Geography Climate Due to the elevation change from the bottom to the top, the summit of the mountain can be twenty to thirty degrees cooler than the base.
