Leipzig-Land
Leipzig-Land is an electoral constituency (German: ''Wahlkreis'') represented in the Bundestag. It elects one member via first-past-the-post voting. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 154. It is located in northwestern Saxony, comprising the Landkreis Leipzig district. Leipzig-Land was created for the inaugural 1990 federal election after German reunification. Since 2021, it has been represented by Edgar Naujok of the Alternative for Germany (AfD). Geography Leipzig-Land is located in northwestern Saxony. As of the 2021 federal election, it is coterminous with the Landkreis Leipzig district. Leipziger Land is a former district in Saxony, Germany. It was bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Delitzsch, the district-free city Leipzig, Muldentalkreis, Mittweida, the district Altenburger Land in Thuringia, and the districts Burgenlandkreis, Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt. Franziska Mascheck (born 4 February 1979 in Dresden) is a German dancer, social worker and politician for the SPD and since 2021 member of the German Bundestag, the federal diet. Life Mascheck was born 1979 in the East German city of Dresden and grew up with her two siblings in Schwedt/Oder. She is of Protestant denomination. She is a granddaughter of the aerodynamics scientists Hans-Joachim Mascheck and a descendent of the founders of the dye works Oskar Mascheck, known in Saxony. She became member of the Bundestag in 2021. She completed a four-year ballet degree at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden. Following that she worked as a dancer in New York and Austin. Federal elections were held in Germany on 24 September 2017 to elect the members of the 19th Bundestag. At stake were at least 598 seats in the Bundestag, as well as 111 overhang and leveling seats determined thereafter.
